I placed an order for a ps3 game on 15th April - marked NEXT DAY DISPATCH expected delivery 18 april, for my son's birthday I waited in - as the item stated it required 'an adult to sign', and after several phone calls, was told my order had been despatched and i could expect in 3-5 days. Call 2 - informed up to 10 days. Call 3 - oh sorry, your order was cancelled you should have been told and have been refunded, and oh yes you should have been told when you called earlier as we knew… Read Full Review

I am very annoyed with Tesco Entertainment! They do not know what they are doing technically (I am a technical expert/systems engineer by the way) and have a poor site with a very poor download service, you have been warned, DOWNLOAD AT YOUR OWN RISK! If you wish to download an MP3, you must install the Tesco downloader, which isn't too onerous BUT they now require you to download and install Microsoft framework 3.5 AND Microsoft silverlight... There is no technical benefit to doing this, it… Read Full Review

Same problem today as reported by many here. Five tracks to download, need to update the download manager, but need to install silverlight (already installed) first. So - installed silverlight, "this version is already installed". So - uninstalled it, back into Tesco account, view my order, install silverlight - installed successfully. Still couldn't update the Tesco download manager. Called Tesco support - oh, needs to be an administrative account sir. It is. Can I log in and check sir? You… Read Full Review

Used Tesco for a few album downloads without problems...until they changed download manager to Silverlight?...now my month old order for one mp3 single won't download..followed prompts to upgrade manager etc etc..just get a blank window..over and over again..no error messages/info/explanation anywhere on site etc..very tedious..sometimes you just want a tune there and then and are happy to pay!! Won't be using again..for such a huge and profitable company this is completely unacceptable...and… Read Full Review

Download previews don't work for latest versions of any mainstream browser. I wanted to preview before downloading by Tesco support say:-
1. It doesn't work at all with Chrome
2. I won't work with latest IE9
3. It won't work with latest Firefox
I mean really! - are they serious about operating in this business? I'm off to Amazon or Play and yes, I'll even be happy to pay! Sorry Tesco - get your act together for goodness sake - you have the resources, use them!… Read Full Review

Used this Tesco site to download albums before, was excellent, really fast and no issues or complaints...until today.
I bought 2 albums. Once purchased it asked me to download the new download manager.
It wont download! Keeps stopping at the same point each time! Even tried it on another PC with no luck.
So I'm now stuck with albums that I've bought and can't download! Not impressed at all by this! I love Tesco, but this has put them down in my books.
If they gave me the option to… Read Full Review

Used to be great, good offers and reasonable download time, but now it's upgraded the download manager, it doesn't work. Can't get it to repair, uninstall or do anything! Not an issue with XP or others already reported as I'm on windows 7 - just doesn't do anything. Hope I can get refunded cause the new download manager does not do what it says. Bring the old one back!… Read Full Review

I first came across this site and started using it around 2007-2008 in the old days of DRM. The DRM itself wasn't the issue for me so much as the bit-rates that sites were offering and theirs were 192. One day they "relaunched" the site and I bought 2 tracks from them. When I downloaded them they had bit-rates of 128kbps and I was horrified as it was not mentioned anywhere on their site. I requested a refund but was refused because I had downloaded the files. Well I had to do know they were… Read Full Review

Sadly no longer works for me since they have changed their downloading software. Suggest you do not use Tesco download until sorted. Their own engineers tried at length to help (three different people) But they could not get it to work either. Hope I can get my money back. Shame as it is good value has lots of tracks and used to be so good… Read Full Review

Have used this site for sometime until the recent upgrade of Tesco Download Manager and Microsoft Silverlight which now does not work on Windows XP. Their technical support advise that it is a known problem and there is currently no fix available. Advised to upgrade to Windows 7.
Have refunded purchases and advised to go to other suppliers that will work with my system.
Shame as it did have some good offers… Read Full Review

I've used this site using a Windows PC before to purchase and download music and it works great. Using an Apple Mac it simply doesn't work. How can Tesco manage to spectacularly fail with what should be simple technology. The good thing is they are one of the best priced music download sites there is, but come on Tesco, employ some decent web developers that can actually write software for various platforms. Price 10/10 - Website usability and design 9/10 - Functionality 3/10. Tesco get this… Read Full Review

Great site, and very easy to use. Music is much cheaper than itunes and the Download Manager software puts it automatically into itunes for you. Unlike other people below I downloaded a full album in about 15 minutes on my broadband line.
Would definitely recommend this site to others wanting to find an itunes alternative!… Read Full Review

Usually I research places to buy my music first but I knew Tesco was the only place that sold the album I wanted, so I went and bought it. I bought tried to download, it would not work. I did't know (wasn't clear) that you had to download Tesco download manager first. Once I did, I tried again. First song got stuck on 'Getting info' so I aborted it. Second song 'download error occured'. Third song, it managed to download :). Same with the four. Now on to the fifth song, hopefully the rest will… Read Full Review

This was horrid to use and took over two hours to download an album. I would suggest buying your music elsewhere. I was going to buy three albums but ended up getting the other two from Amazon which downloaded no problem and took a fraction of the time but there are other good sites. Try checking prices for mp3 downloads at tunechecker (but ignore the tesco results)… Read Full Review

My first experience with Tesco Entertainment, and it's not a good one. My two tracks have been stuck in the download manager for hours, and I've tried all the things they recommend on their site (not that there's much advice there). I have no problem at all with other music download sites, and in fact I bought a track from Amazon.co.uk right after the Tesco ones, and it downloaded in a matter of seconds. I'm waiting for a customer service reply from Tesco as I write. Can't see me using it… Read Full Review

To counter-balance the negative reviews below, I used Tesco Downloads for the first time last night and have been very impressed. I bought a single track for 67p (vs 99p on iTunes) and have just bought the Foo Fighters Greatest Hits album for £3.97 (half the price of anywhere else). Download speed is good - once you have the Download Manager installed - and it's easy to import into iTunes for syncing with my iPod. Perhaps some of the issues below were teething problems with the new site… Read Full Review
