Good Points: Some genuinely funny momemts.

Bad Points: Seemed to run out of steam a little, difficult for these two characters to fill a half-hour slot.

General comments: Peter Kay's spin-off series about the two lads who worked the door at the Phoenix was eagerly anticipated as his previous show aired on Channel 4 (Phoenix Nights) was a huge success. This is funny and is suitable for the whole family to enjoy, the two characters do struggle to keep us chuckling for the full half hour though. I would still recommend this show but it's not a patch on Phoenix Nights. You'll be pleased to know that Kay doesn't sing that Amarillo song but there is an annoying theme tune to be wary of.

The episodes were all funny with a few cracking lines in each one at the very least...

My favourite was the one where they run over the cow and end up with the pig in the motor home farting everywhere ''dirty pig how dare you'' and Max with the goggles on...hehe

Overall a great series hope there is another.

What a bitter dissapointment 'Max & Paddy's Road to Nowhere' is. Is this some sort of subliminal gay fantasy voyage that Peter Kay had tucked away in the darker recesses of his mind. It seems only the slightest provocation is needed for Paddy to get his kit off. We then get five minutes of Max giving him strange furtive glances and lavacious praise about his sexual prowess with the ladies. The soap joke in the prison shower? c'mon thats so old Frank Carson wouldn't touch it. It tends to su ...
