    Good Points: It's for charity

    Bad Points: It's rubbish

General comments: Band Aid 20, Do They Know It's Christmas - Oh my God! What the hell is this? Fair play to Geldof for trying to raise awareness and cash for the crisis in Sudan - that's brilliant. The song however, is far from it.

The original is a true classic and will always be played in super markets, ad nauseum. The new version, though, is a travesty. It sounds flat and most of the 'artists' are clearly only there to boost their own image. The original had worldwide superstars like George Micheal, whereas the 2004 version has Keane and The Darkness. Don't get me wrong, I think most of the bands involved are very talented, but where are the 'real' stars? The ones who don't need any publicity? (OK, Bono and Robbie Williams are there...but that's all).

Also, where is the tune? The passion? Like I said earlier, this song is out of tune and populated by no-bodies. As for the rapping by Dizzy Rascal or whatever his name is - do me a favour! It deserves to be number one, if only because all proceeds go to Sudan, but the song itself doesn't deserve a top 100 place.

ONCE AGAIN - IT IS THE SONG, NOT THE GOOD CAUSE, THAT I HAVE GIVEN 1 STAR.

Band Aid 20, Do They Know It's Christmas is a very good song. It's nice to have different people in it such as The Darkness (rock), Dizzee Rascal (hip hop) and Robbie Williams (pop). It's also clever to put those who sing alike together like Jamelia and Will Young. Dizzee's solo is good to put in... but then again those who like to sing along to tunes it's quite hard to do with this one. In the video you have Joss Stone singing her own little bit but you can't hear her until the end... they shou ...

Lets face it the new band aid track is a pretty rubbish version of a song which was pretty rubbish twenty years ago. The over the top, self indulgent guitar solos from Dan Hawkins, the "grime" drabble from Dizzee Rascal, come on!! The thing is, with a fleeting contribution from the majority of the big acts in todays pop industry, each one commanding a mini army of teenage (and younger, in many cases) fans, the song will undoutedly sell. However, in todays market, with the decline in sales of ...

Band Aid 20, Do They Know It's Christmas - The original is definitely the best!! This is a disappointment!! The Darkness should not try to make this a rock song...it's a Christmas song!! What a fool!

Band Aid 20, Do They Know It's Christmas - I understand that Band Aid 20 is to remind us of what went before and bring the song to a new generation. However I think they spent too much time trying to reinvent the song and not enough time ensuring that it all fitted together.

The original was amazing and the opening bars are its signature but they did away with all that made it great and tried so hard to make it trendy that they lost the point.

However, it is Band Aid and worth buying for ...

Band Aid 20, Do They Know It's Christmas - Don't get me wrong, Band Aid is a brilliant charity and the original song is brilliant, but this song is utter pants. I really hope it sells well so that they make a lot of money, but the song itself is really poor. Some of the people they have on are of nowhere near the same calibre as the first time the song was released, and what is Dizzie Rascal's rap in the middle?! Its ridiculous. I'm sorry to say but just in my opinion I really do not think this ...

Do They Know It's Christmas? They must do because they've rehashed an old Christmas song again. Band Aid is a brilliant cause and at least the song will draw attention to it once again. They had some top singers on it this year, Chris Martin, Bono, The Darkness to name a few but why did they also feel the need to invite the likes of Rachel Stevens and Busted? The main failing of the song is that it lacks innovation. Dizzee Rascal's little rap is the only part of the song that is truly fresh ...

Band Aid 20, Do They Know It's Christmas - Band Aid is a legendary Christmas song which has raised millions for charity in the past, unfortunately after the third time, it is wearing a bit thin. Why did they use the same song again? Although it is different, the original had to be the best. That rap also sounds rather dodgy.
