Good Points: Price, taste, sharp
Bad Points: Unrefined
General comments: Haller's Whiskey Sour Mash Bourbon: A straight bourbon if there ever was one. Sharp and full of bite. No extra tang like from Jack Daniels. However, not as refined as Jim Beam, which has a more subtle flavor. Yet, this is a drinkin' man's whiskey. You know it's whiskey. A nice deep color announces it's bold flavor. In a price range of $6 for a fifth, I at first expected it to be oily, like Banker's Club's excuses for alcohol. Or maybe more sour and bitter than the more expensive, yet infinitely horrible, Old Crow. I was surprised. The BEST value for the dollar. It's no, Irish Mist, but what is beside Irish Mist? If you want a bottle to impress people, don't buy this stripped down brand. Looks don't count! And if you worry about taste, then this is the one for you.
