My farther got what is now my UD-M31 second hand, he had it for about 7 months, before he gave it me, and ive had the system at least 18 months, and i have had no problems at all. This hi-fi is my holy grail of sound, being my first upper market hi-fi, it has (obviously) blown my previouse sony, sharp, panisonic systems out of the water, even though it is half the size and a third of the power, the sound is clear and presise, and in the right enviroment and the built in eq setting flat, makes a good 2nd best to my behringer dt100's (mixing/monitering headphones renound for having perfect sound reproduction) the low end wont shake your house down and that is why you get a subwoofer output :) but other then that the sound is gorgeouse! not to mention how this system looks. i mostly use itunes with my denon, and a touch of eq here and there does wanders, and if you have or are getting one of these, best to have the speakers set out peoperly, do this amazing little thing some justice :)

the only reason this product didnt get a 5 for sound quality is my experience with lynn systems. 10/10 for the dennon

Same old problem with the Denon UD-M31 - the volume knob does not work properly. Now the tuner has packed up. Item about 3 years old. Very disappointed...

After 18 months I experienced a problem with the volume on my Denon UD-M31. I Have had to replace the input/putput circuit board, and now I need to replace the drive motor for the cd player. It appears you can only buy this part by buying the complete loading mechanism which will cost me approximately $185. I am dissatisfied by all these major faults within 5 years. So much for Denons reputation of quality!

The Denon UD-M31 is a good sound for such a compact system, great value for money.

If you need small but gutsy with great sound this Denon is a cracker, the volume dial is just a silly problem, but don't waste your time ringing the denon not so hot or helpful line, they are not aware of any probs, that said, 9/10 for this little beauty.

A year and three months ago I decided to get the Denon UD-M31 just because I could spend the bank's money. "Forget the interest rate hikes I'll deal with that when I have to pay through the nose", I thought. Silly words from a silly man! Of course by the time I was at the store, a demo model was the only one left. Contemplating the weeks I'd have to wait for new orders to come in, I whined furiously. Consequently someone said that they'd found one stashed safely at back. Goodness there is an ang ...

In our family we have two Denon UD-M31 micro systems. After 3 years both have the same fault. You can control the volume on the remote, but, the manual volume control fails after a minute or so. The system goes on full power. The "Lack of Service" department at Denon deny there is a problem.

It is a great piece of kit when it works, but, if you have a problem, Denon seem to take the view - buy another one! "Our systems are very reliable". "We do not know of similar problems"

The Denon UD-M31 Micro System has truly the most amazing sound quality I've ever heard for anything costing less than £4000. Best money I've ever spent. I hope to continue using it for many years to come.

I've had this Denon UD-M31 micro system 8 months and it's been absolutely wonderful. It replaced a rack of equipment (Amp, CD, Tuner) in a fraction of the space. However, if I was buying again I'd buy the Denon ADV-M71 instead because for a £100 more I'd get DVD, MP3 playback, AV sound plus everything I have already!

Just bought the Denon UD-M31 Micro System which was a great decision. Was looking for a good sounding but compact system for music in a large kitchen. Read the rave reviews but had my doubts. Richer Sounds have just reduced price to £185 so chanced my arm. I have matched it with a pair of their Eltax Monitor 3 speakers (lovely budget speakers) and the result is wonderful. Perhaps not quite the bass and power of a full sized system but more than enough and all music so far sounds good.. ...

I bought the denon as a bedroom system, having seen good reviews. I expected a decent sound but have been bowled over by what this little box can do. I've tried it with a variety of speakers from Mission M71s which sounded excellent to seemingly silly matches such as Quad 11L's. Given that these components belong to different price categories and the Quad's are class leaders I was staggered that the little Denon - 22 watts per channel - not only drove the speakers but did so with remarkable pois ...

I dont have a great deal of room available now I have purchased a widescreen TV so my old Marantz KI series had to go,I replaced it with a Denon UD-M31 and was astonished at the sound quality which improved even more when I purchased Alphason speaker stands. Playing a Pacific DVD Player through it is a real experience, the bass is deep & controlled and the imaging is truly excellent in my view a top notch product at an excellent price. One small niggle, when using headphones on the CD or DVD when ...
