Ideal for youth organisations. Cost of a 1798 is £60 each, cases, targets pellet catchers and pellets are cheap as well depending where you get them from.

Nice cheap target rifle which will give good results which is always pleasing, the only thing wrong with this SMK 1798 Laserhawk .177 is that it can not be zeroed in to shoot at 10 metres? I find this very strange as 10 metres is a NSRA accepted distance, with the rear sight at its lowest it misses the target by approx 4 inches, but the accuracy is very good if you know what I mean i.e good grouping.
I am currently looking to change the rear diopter for a better one to see if I can get a lower ...

I have used the SMK 1798 Laserhawk rifles and its counterpart the Biathlon trainer (same rifle, different style of front sight) a lot from being a youth air rifle instructor.
These rifles are fine for use by young children, being extremely lightweight, one of the lightest guns available on the market, if not the lightest. The sight is easily adjustable, there is very little kickback, and an ambidextrous grip.
The accuracy of the rifle is often variable, if treated with care you can get gro ...

The SMK 1798 Laserhawk .177 is my 2nd rifle, and I have to say I am very impressed.
I got mine for £90 with a 4x20 Webly scope, a knock down target, and a tub of pellets, which I thought was a good deal.
I am amazed with the accuracy of this thing out of 5 shots, I hit 3 medium sized marballs.
It is also perfect for garden pests, I have shot 3 starlings all with head shots and i should imagine it is also good on rats, mice, ect...
Overall a great little gun.

I was told to get the SMK 1798 Laserhawk .177 rifle by a mate to get this rifle for the price I am willing to pay. I have shot this rifle and it seems to be ok. A plinker capable of close range ratting, an 11mm scope rail, removable diopter sight what else could you ask for £60? Nothing really. .177 cal also. I like the look of the rifle as it doesn't look as tacky as the B2 the stock looks good. A good gun to look out for because of its price. The velocity is 525fps but tends to drop afte ...
