    Good Points: Excellent location, close to major sites and the train station. Very large room and bigger than most bathrooms. Reasonable pricing.


    Bad Points: Stairs - street in front of hotel was all torn up during our stay - which, though inconvenient, was doable. But I have bad knees, and the stairs were a killer.
    Mega breakfast fare, due to fact that we came down after a tour group had cleaned out what the put out and didn't refill.


    General comments: I would recommend it to others who needed the convenience, but I would probably look for someplace with an elevator next time.

    Let's face it - you are out more than in when visiting a such a wonderful place. The Hotel Academia was fairly basic but is priced accordingly compared to others in the vicinity. The staff were very friendly and the service very good. Rooms were cleaned every day and you can just step out the door and you are right in the middle of the hustle and bustle of wonderful Florence. The noise late at night largely consisted of drunk people (mostly British and American) staggering home and the noise ...
