Good Points: Start up can be personalised Handy size Different coloured cameras
Bad Points: Not really found any yet
General comments: The Canon A400 Powershot digital camera was bought by my wife for my 70th birthday. My old camera was a 35mm SLR semi automatic.
I found that my new camera was easy to use, and after a few practice sessions, I soon became quite good at taking photographs. Certainty of the new features though can be difficult to grasp for an oldie like me, and I would have liked a CD to run through the features the camera possesses. The quality of the prints is very good, and far superior to my old camera.
I liked the facility to take video pictures, and I found it very useful, but obviously, unless you upgrade to a larger Memory card than the one that is supplied with the camera, you will only be able to shoot a few short seconds, but one doesn't buy a digital camera to take moving pictures; this facility is an added bonus.
There are so many features on this camera, that it will take me some time to get around to using them all. I have only just about mastered the basics, and I suspect it will be a long time before I get round to using them all. I put this down to my age, but think a younger person would pick it up in no time.
All in all, it is a little remarkable camera with a lot of features for the money, and I have no hesitation in recommending this camera as a starter camera to anyone thinking of going digital.

This Canon was my first DC but it broke unfortunately(clumsiness). But still, the A400 gives great quality pics for a 3.2MP.
