Good Points: It has a powerful 6x optical zoom for the money. It is obviously not compact due to the 6x zoom, but it is still not too big or heavy. Also, a really good feature is it will take BOTH rechargeable batteries and ordinary AA batteries, which makes it very versatile if your rechargeables run out on a day trip!

Bad Points: The zoom is difficult to focus. Mine won't focus at all at the moment, leading to blurry pictures, which I am disappointed with. Also, a really annoying point is that you can not view a picture you have just taken without switching it on and off again, which is time consuming and uses up batteries.
The LCD display is small. The video function is a waste of time really because there is no sound (what is the point of that?). I did not realise this when I bought it.

General comments: The Fuji Finepix S35000 Zoom digital camera is a good camera if you want to take pictures from far away. The 6x zoom on a digital camera represents good value for money. You will have to buy a bigger memory card though. This is the only reason that I can see for buying it, although I am not an expert. If you are not bothered about the zoom there are lots of other more compact digital cameras which look better and have better features.

First class camera great value for money, good clear instructions in the owner's manual as well as on the on screen display. If you are looking for an old fashion SLR type camera with the 21st Century technology you will not be disappointed. With clear, crisp images to be proud of. We recently went away and took some close up images at the maximum resolution and was surprised at the quality even after the image had been enlarged. One final comment do use rechargable batteries without the mini LC ...
