“TERRIBLE SERVICE- SHAMBLES OF A HOLIDAY”

Me and my parter booked a package holiday to Egypt in May , and on our second day at the hotel were told by the hotel that they hadnt recieved payment for our accommodation so me and my partner either had to pay the complete bill for the hotel ( which we had already paid teletext) or leave the hotel . upon showing the hotel my invoice for the room i was told this doesn't mean anything as the money hadnt been paid by teletext. i then racked up a £120 phone bill calling the teletext helpline… Read Full Review

“Don't believe advertised prices”

I saw a holiday advertised at £429 per person and thought I would go for it. I rang the designated number with the enquiry reference then spent 45 minutes on the phone to a person who spoke very poor english and kept putting me on hold. Eventually I was given a price of £618 per person some £189 more than the advertised price. Most travel companies regard checked in luggage, transfers and in flight meals, as optional extras because you are not obliged to take these and many people choose not to in order to keep costs low. This information is provided on individual offers.

“Worst Company Ever”

I spoke to lots of people here all are very rude extremely rude. They booked only 1 checkin bag when asked for 2 checkin bags, he lied to us. I explained to them very clearly that there is 2 people going and need 2 check-in bags as we both lived in seperate cities. They only booked us 1 bag. To start with the call centre was in india, so the first 2 agents couldn't understand what i was saying. They then managed to find £100 per persons worth of extra charges that they failed to include in the online quote. Once the holiday was paid for they rang me back an hour later to tel me they needed even more money due to a mistake on their quote. I am having the same problem with getting my money back. If you see my review from a few back, I have not been given any refund yet at all. There has also been a continued avoidance to acknowledge my request for the telephone encounters as well. I am going to the Travel Trust Association for support. Your experience appears similar to mine and it appears that this is not a one off case. I cannot believe that my case has not yet been resolved and the company has still not issued a refund. Teletext did respond on this forum by stating they will look into it, but as of this time I have still not received any money back and sadly no further progress appears to have been made.

After booking our holiday on the 14tb of January we were set to leave on the 24th of June. On the morning of the flight I logged onto the Birmingham airport webpage, onto departures to see our flight was not displayed on the board. “Constant phone back calls to harass me to book holiday ”

I phoned up to enquire about a holiday yesterday and was told that I should book straight away or I would miss out. After a discussion with the call taker who did not seem to understand that I would need to discuss with other members of the party before booking he said he would call me back...and that he did. I phoned teletext regarding a specific holiday on their website. But because of the flight times from our local airport, it meant you lost 2 days, as you arrived very late and left very early. Where to begin! Quick to take your money giving inaccurte information then refuse to give any refund when you have been mis-sold a holiday. They say they will get back to you within 1d when you write an email, but have still not recvied any written response just automated messages. Many staff rude and unhelpful, pinning the blame on the customer and threatening with legal advisors. Since writing this review teletext have now agreed to give me a refund for the hotel and transfers, although i have not yet received any money back. However they will not agree to refunding the flights, even though I feel I was mis-sold this holiday.

Thank you. It is TT154168. I am however disappointed that you not agreed to fully refund the flights as well, given that my cancellation request was made before having even received the booking invoice or flight confirmation, and as I felt that the information i was given about the holiday was mis-leading and incorrect. This is not the service I would expect to receive under consumer rights laws and i have felt there has been an avoidance to accept my request for copies of all telephone encounters held with company as well.

Hi, the reason it became resolved is because I had to ring the hotel myself and beg for them to try to reinstate the booking. This was not in any way resolved by your team. Once the hotel agreed I had to call you again to ask for you to confirm the booking, your team said they couldn't as it was booked through a 3rd party! This was finally resolved after much pressure and stress on my part. Your team are not helpful. All they had to do was call the hotel but no, it was left to me to sort out! It's an utter disgrace. You haven't apologised, or even had the decency to offer to pay me for the phone call to Majorca!!! Do you have anything to say about this at all? I truly am appalled at how this gas all been handled from what I would consider to be a large company.

I called Teletext holidays as I found them cheaper than the usual holiday companies when searching the internet, Although the price differed only slightly than advertised on their website, it was still a lot cheaper and a better deal altogether!!
