Travel date: September 2016 The Hotel Esplendid in Blanes, Costa Brava, Spain is the worse hotel I have ever stayed at. Please read this report carefully and do not get caught out as we did. But, I'll tell you in advance, you have already been given the opportunity to look into it, and you have given your answer, which after all the information and photographic evidence I painstakingly took the time to send you, you have given the the usual "brush off" you appear to give to the majority of your customers who have genuine complaints like mine, hence the reason for going public, because everyone in the world needs to know what a dreadful company you are to do business with.

You have a real opportunity here to make things right - So make things right. Show the world you are a GOOD company to do business with.

This very same reply has also been posted on Moneysavingexpert after you asking me this very same question there on 11/11/16, and you have not yet responded.

“Beware of the Teletext Holidays company and its staff !”

Book through this company and its overseas call centre only if you want your email etc to be hacked within a few minutes of contacting them. Their staff are less than honest and they promise you the sky but do not deliver. I contacted them earlier this month to get a deal they were advertising. Keep clear of this travel agent. I booked our first family holiday 12 months in advance after a lot of research picked the ideal hotel. Teletext holidays use third party suppliers. 6 days before we were due to travel I receive a call saying the third party supplier had gone into liquidation and we didn't have a hotel for our holiday. One of the worst companies I have ever had to deal with. Found a holiday online for a week later advertised for £400 per person rang was told total cost £1850. Live price. Booked an thought all done. How wrong was I. They rang me back half hour later hotel full so they booked me on a allocation on arrival 220 km away but needed £400 to do this. I refused and asked for a refund. “Poor Customer Service - Rip Off!”

I upgraded on the phone to a room with a kitchenette for self catering, however when I arrived at the hotel I got a standard room only room. I spoke to the two women on reception who said that they didn't have any kitchenette rooms and it wasn't their problem. I booked a holiday to Tenerife through teletext. (4 adults, 2 kids and infant). I contacted our hotel directly to ask for rooms next to each other and the reception emailed back saying the room only takes 2 adults and a child and not an infant. I paid £6000 for this holiday - not a cheap deal! I contacted teletext and for 8 days was fobbed off and offered hotels in other areas which I continually said I didn't want. The VERY KEEN agent talked through everything, times, flights, prices, what was/not included and it all seemed fine. You have already contacted us twice and dismissed our complaints about lack of customer service and especially clarity. We could understand this if we had been booking ourselves online but as we were talked through the booking on the phone by an agent and no mention was ever made about luggage and then the paperwork (when it eventually came) was thoroughly unclear, we are still thoroughly fed up.

We intend to let everyone we know how shoddy you are when looking after people. We spent half our holiday spending money paying for luggage so will not stop telling people not to book through Teletext.

I have had the same response from Teletext. Absolutely disgusting useless staff operators and service, and I am not even in the holiday yet!.
In fact they told me if I have a problem then I can't complain until I return from my holiday.

I booked my holiday with teletext holidays this summer.My transfer did not arrive and when I finally made contact with them they told me that the transfer had been cancelled and that I had been contacted with regard to this. “Money grabbing shambles of an organisation ”

Teletext are shocking, i agree with many other customers that this is by far the worst company i have dealt with. Hello, my friend. The standard of this company has gone down hill very fast. I booked with them for a few years now but this year's booking (twice!!!!!!, in May and Sept) amde me realise how good a company is when you requested for change, alterations, etc. You get to place on hold over the phone, very difficult to speak to the right person and promises that they do not keep.
Same with me that I had book the holiday and was told the offer of a rpivate (this occasion) transfer was no longer available and I had to source it myself at the place that I have never been. Previous occasion was change of flights and claims for refund to Air Passenger Duty for a minor. I cannot claim from Thomas Cook as I booked my flights through Teletext Holidays and TH said I am not allowed refund because I paid for my holidays in Jan BUT for a holiday in May. The new regulations came effective on 1 May 2015 and we do not fly until 20 May. I can just go on with their attitudes and their response that someone will get in touch. I hope the tv will take up your stories and many others who had befallen to their way they conduct their business. Shame on Teletext Holidays. I would still go overseas for my holidays and i think it is best to visit the Travel shops and discuss it with a real person.

Let's see what your response is..........however before you give me a standard response, please contact your colleague(s) who had gave me an earlier response which was unsatisfactory.

Surprise me and I will put my hands up to say your company has dealt with my issues favourably and I may reconsider booking my future holidays with you. My family and I take at least two holidays in a year, including cruises. It may not be our money that spent on Teletext Holidays but I am sure other holiday makers too.

Booked holiday to Turkey, found out week before going of family problems that would affect our holiday plans. Phoned, mailed, phoned, mailed, Teletext with no joy, only wanted to change names with same number of people going on SAME dates !!! No response so changed flight names myself with sqeezy jet and called Hotel in Turkey to change names as flights. My daughter, friend, and son had a great Holiday, no thanks to Teletext. I had three issues with them over two holidays - one in May and Sept. After many calls, emails, messages on facebook......NO. They said they are not in the wrong but obviously I was ill advised by them. Even the last one, it was over a mere £20+ that I am only asking them to compensate and they would not do it even on a gesture of goodwill. It was an offer of a private transfer rather then a coach transfer. After I booked it, the person over the phone said it is no longer available and deduct £50 and said it will be cheaper to source my own transfer. I have never been to the place and when I search it on the web it was more expensive even for a coach transfer. After complaining, they said they will book it for me but will cost £70+ of which I said I am willing to pay £50 and they would not accept it. It is a matter of principle on this occasion. They insisted that it is up to the customers on transfers!!!!!!!. I eventually managed to find one myself but costing £50+ and no thanks to Teletext. I have learnt my lesson with them but I am still pursuing this incident and a previous one on Air Passenger Duty refund for a minor.

Yes, but only in their favour as I had given up. They insisted they had done nothing wrong. What so frustrating is their call back as they had promised and I had to keep pestering them for someone to help me. After awhile, I was told it was too late and was not given further advice or that I should contact Thomas Cook about change of flights. I ended up buying another full ticket and just wasted the initial one.
Like any company, you will find how good a company is when you need their help. In this case, Teletext Holidays tried but failed miserably in my case (not once unfortunately)

I have already written to you in regards to this incorrect information (see below).

For your convenience, I have also attached the invoice that your company sent me, confirming that we paid a total of £1,186.00 for our holiday. You have confirmed a refund in the amount of £593. This means that £593 IS STILL OUTSTANDING.

I have no idea why this is not extremely obvious and how your representatives keep missing this fact.

This is absolutely unacceptable service.



Dear,

Yet again, I received a call back from a Teletext representative that insisted that a refund had been processed on 17 July 2015 and proceeded to read me out the details of this refund, including the card number. This card belongs to my partner.

Yes, on this date, £593 was refunded to my partner's card. This was never in dispute. The additional £593 that I paid from my Lloyd's Visa card IS STILL OUTSTANDING. I have multiple records from Teletext that there were two separate payments of £593 upon booking our holiday; why the representatives I have spoken to are not understanding this is completely beyond me. I have never experienced such incompetence from a professional company in my entire life.

Please refrain from contacting me any further with inane comments and incorrect information. It is insulting.

As previously mentioned, I will be starting court proceedings in 14 days if I have not been refunded by then.
