Good Points: Great architecture, quiet neighborhood, good service
Bad Points: Not in city center, no romantic decoration, no bar in the hotel
General comments: Hotel Domus Sessoriana - Just the first look at the hotel gives away it's uniqueness, the integration with the church is awesome. The check-in went swiftly, and the rooms were spacy. If you like a lot of decoration, thick carpets and a housey atmosphere, you'll be disappointed, as the hotel really is kept in the old church style. Very modest, just the essentials, and high ceilings. Although everything of luxury you need is there (tv, minibar, fully equipped bathroom, ...), you also get a feeling of living in a monastery. The breakfast was what I expect of a city break hotel: I've read that breakfasts in Rome were poor, but the selection was enough (cereals, yoghurt, a piece of fruit, bread, and some sweet breakfast snacks) and most of all the quality was very good.
The hotel isn't in the city centre, but a 15-20 minute walk brings you right to the city centre, and a subway station is a 5 minute walk. The neighboorhood is ok, and can be compared to the most of Rome city areas (a lot of grafitti!). The downside for the hotel is a lack of a bar, which is a bit annoying because in the neighborhood there is not really a place for a nightcap. The clerks at the reception are nice and helpful.
