Good Points: Cheap, easy to install, simple set up, works on some Linux distros. fast enough for my 2.2 mbps broadband
Bad Points: No network port
General comments: No frills with this modem (Speedtouch 330 USB) it is simple and works with fast speeds. I also use this modem with Linux Mandriva and SuSE with simple instructions found on the Speedtouch site. I would have liked a network port on it but I suppose it wasn't designed for that.

If you want a phone line/USB modem that is simple to install and very durable the Alcatel Speedtouch 330 USB modem is for you. There are no other ports for wireless networking, so this is only for a single machine, unless you have another switch/router.
I have had this on my PC for almost a year now, and it simply works and works. This unit has never lost a connection in all that time.- Read tuizner's review (85 words)

The Alcatel Speedtouch 330 USB is a fantastic modem. I'm running Windows 98se and I haven't had a single problem with it. I have Virgin Broadband which constantly runs at 576.0 kbps, regardless of network conditions etc. I would recommend this to anyone, just make sure you tell your computer never to dial a modem, as the modem comes with software to do this, and if you don't it tends to drop the line when you open Microsoft Outlook.- Read sumo guy's review (77 words)

The Alcatel Speedtouch 330 USB is a fantastic little modem. Extremely fast and very reliable when used with Windows XP.
There is a Driver update available for Windows 98/ME which definitely cures the problems.
It's maximum speed is supposed to be 576.0 Kbps (downstream) but mine has achieved 615.0 Kbps on a good day but only around 70.0 Kbps when the network is very busy.
I have found it to be a very good and reliable product.- Read Seany's review (97 words and 3 comments)
