Good Points: Superb sound especially with AC3/Dolby Digital/5.1 Dolby via the optical cable. A brilliant bass/subwoofer level effect. Music is fantastically clear using the phono sound ports, when playing a cd, but not as clear when playing through optical.
Bad Points: Distance is restricted to room only can't walk around the house..not such a big deal for me. Infared transmitter must be at level with seating position and not restricted or blocked buy other objects.
General comments: Sony MDR-DS3000 Review - Optical i would say is better for surround sound effects and phono I would say better for music, divx movies. But please do make sure you buy high quality phono cables like IXOS or QED. Overall superb system with loads of battery life fantastically crafted surround sound and a very comfortable headphone, even for long hours of pleasure.
