I am a registered Postmaster user, but since last night I cannot access the site, neither can my daughter from her computer. When we try we get Oil Review Middle East. What is the problem? Has the site been hijacked? Is there a security issue? We can't report it to Postmaster as every time we try to contact them we get re-directed to the Middle East site. If we go through Google it shows up as being Postmaster site but the Oil site comes up. Surely Postmaster must know! (read more)

From 2004-2007, I lived in Japan, and used to exchange emails with my late mum through this email system. Ever since Vorari took over, the system has been an unmitigated disaster. Avoid at all costs. (read more)

I joined up to the original postmaster webmail probably 10+ years ago and have since watched what was a simple, no frills, reliable service deteriorate into an unusable mess. Yes, the service is disgusting since going over to voltari. We are home users, 3 of us use and pay for their so called 'Gold Service' but it has been practically non existant over the last 3 months. Firstly all our files and folders vanished and it took weeks for them to retrieve them, the service after than was hit or miss, mostly miss, and then just two weeks ago all our folders and records vanished again. No service as other poster says for a week but this is now their standard service pattern! To add insult to injury they had a notice up a one point claiming that the users were to blame for overloading the system or somesuch rubbish and took payments from our banks in October for a non existant service.

Postmaster has had a virtually non existant service for the last three months, and they only rarely admit that their servers are down (or whatever their latest issue is). I believe they have tried to migrateto new servers TWICE in this time, without warning. As customers, we have no idea when we may get access to ours emails, and it seems that all of mine have been lost. 19th September, 2011 A system which loses all your folders, seems only intermittently able to send and receive messages, and regularly presents one with signs such as Bad Gate etc thus denying access at all has proved to be the most frustrating and indeed infuriating email system I have ever encountered. Yes. They switched platforms to Vorari a week later than advised, but without letting anyone know what was happening. Porting old mail folders took a week, but in a different storage structure so that my IMAP connection couldn't find them. Then they went down for a couple of days, with no reason given. A couple of days later, they got hit by a DDOS attack (they say), and I have had virtually nothing in my inbox for a week now. Who knows if I'll ever receive the missing mail (plus all that which I don't know about).
I used the old Postmaster for a couple of years, with virtually no problems - once they sorted out my on-line data storage area (which Vorari, now, don't offer). The Vorari set-up seems like a total abortion, to be honest. Don't think I'll be staying with them. If things don't shape up rapidly, I'll be asking for my money back and writing a stinky letter to Ofcom.

How I agree!
Choosing to 'replatform' with Vorari/Zimbra is probably the worst decision the Spider Networks/Postmaster management team have ever made.
In addition to the failings mentioned by the foregoing contributor, I would add the eyestrain caused by the new screen design and choice of colours for it and the useless American spell check facility (I am a British user living in the United Kingdom and I do not wish to use any version of the English language other than the proper British one).

I have had my sister - another p[ostmaster customer - send them a request for me and I have heard nothing, neither to my telephone nor to my alternative emaill address. I have explained that I run a business which depends largely on emails. Nothing. They have not replied, explained, reinstated my emails - nothing. It is most frustrating. There is no telephone number, no contact of any sort is possible. This should not be the way that a business is run in this country. They should show respect to their customers. I think the last two comments are too critical - I've been with Postmaster for a few years now and although they are sometimes down for technical reasons, they do give notice in advance and it's not often or usually for very long.
Yes, there can be a delay on emails arriving, but more often than not their arrival is immediate and I've noticed that the delay has lessoned a lot in the last few months.
For a free service I find them pretty reliable, and the much reduced amount of spam is a welcome relief.

I migrated from Postmaster last year (2005) but keep check on my old account just to make sure my address book knows where I am. I estimate that I logged on to Postmaster, maybe 15 times this year. Out of those 15 times, Postmaster has been down twice.
I migrated to Gmail and logon at least once a day on average over a 12 month period. I have never experienced the Gmail servers to be down.
OK, Google is a major world corp and has the $ backing to cope with millions of logon requests/day. Postmaster has to cope with thousands, maybe 10's of thousands of logons/day - i.e. a half decent desktop could cope.
Postmaster has quite a nice front end now, but the back end still sucks.
Please please please don't rely on Postmaster if you want a reliable email service. Use it as a secondary email address at best.
