I have waited over 2 weeks for my item, I ordered the dress online, this is a bridesmaid dress for a friend's wedding. It is not directly from Coast but another High Street store. That store is saying that Coast use a different Courier, which I do believe as I have never had problems with delivery from this high Street Store before. After 3 phone calls over the last 2 weeks, it would now appear that my £130 dress has been delivered to someone else! Unbelievable. Now I have to wait another... (read more)

I bought 4dresses online for my bridesmaids, 1 however didn't fit and the size above was out if stock. After waiting a few weeks for it to return to stock, it didn't, so I sent an email to customer services explaining that the dresses were for bridesmaids and my wedding day was fast approaching. They emailed me back within a few hours saying that they had located 1 in store for me and had reserved it and all I had to do was ring up and give payment details. They even included the phone... I have never felt so compelled to write a negative review. In December I made an online purchase with a retailer I have trusted for its quality clothing. The dress I received was exactly what I expected it was however, delivered two days late. What I can't believe is that I have been unable to speak to anyone at Coast regarding my concerns/complaint - all communication has been through email (which takes at least 24 hours for them to respond)and this has been completely unsatisfactory. ... The Colchester staff are rude and unprofessional. I was told I would be able to return a dress if it turned out not to be suitable. Having bought the dress I discovered I needed a full length dress. I was refused a refund and accused of having worn the dress despite it being fully wrapped and in its original sealed package! Fell in love with Lorianne dress in the shop, but only had a size 6. Placed an order with coast outlet - paid over £9 to get it delivered the 'flat way' which the site advised was the best despite offereing on explainationas to why. Coast – I imagine is good providing there is NO PROBLEMS. If there is a problem then sincerely without any sarcasm GOOD LUCK. Believe me you will need patience, perseverance and even with that combination there is no guarantees. I pre-empted any issues and gave a contact telephone number for me to Coast. Coast has to have the worst Customer Service I have ever experienced. They can only be contacted via email and then they completely ignore them. I will never ever purchase from them again and I do find that a lot of their dresses have faults anyway. (read more)

“Don't order if you're in a hurry”

I paid for 3 day delivery so that my dress would be with me in time for me to go shopping again if it didn't fit. However, the dress was delivered 2 days later - so I may as well have gone with the free 5 day delivery. In addition to this I had to chase my order so that it was dispatched and Coast were very slow at replying to my emails/help forms submitted on their website. “Terrible Service”

I purchased a dress for a bridesmaids dress. Coast sent me the totally wrong dress. When I tried to buy another they had sold out. You cannot talk to them on the phone, only via email and the response I got from them after then caused untold stress the Bride. Sorry for any inconvenience - an automated line on an email. When I complained about that - I got another automated email back. They just do not care about their customers - I am pretty disgusted. (read more)

I agree with the negative reviews below. I ordered a dress online from their website and within 2hr received an email notifying me that because of "not meeting security requirements", my order was cancelled. Despite this, I immediately had a "payment pending" charge on my credit card. I'm waiting to see if it will be processed (which I will then dispute) or cancelled as they keep claiming it will be. I have purchased a dress when I was a bridesmaid in 2008, which turned out to be a complete nightmare. The dress was only available online, and as I had to have it, I ended up ordering 8 dresses of which all of them were returned due to faulty stitching, pulls and damaged material. Went onto the Coast website to purchase 2 bridesmaid dresses but when I entered my payment details I was told to try again as some info was missing or incorrect. Really wanting the dresses I tried several times thinking I must be doing something wrong. Little did I know that each time I tried money was being deducted from my bank account! Hello, I went to your store this afternoon (22nd jan. 2012) at blue water to purchase a Pisa clutch and was insulted by your staff. My card was declined and your staff started acting very unprofessionally. I ordered three bridesmaid dresses for my wedding. Three dresses turned up however one was the wrong size. I tried to phone the customer service number but the message when I called said that "due to high volumes" of call complaints could only be handled by email. I placed an order on the coast website. Every time it contacted my bank for payment it came back with the message "payment declined" even though I had the money in there to cover it. After the 3rd attempt my daughter paid for the dress with her debit card. Imagine my surprise when I went to the ATM the next day to find that my account was overdrawn. Hello,
I bought a dress in Coast for a friend's wedding. It was a expensive dress but I thought the occassion was worth it.
I was completely mistaken.
For my surprise when i went to wear the dress on the wedding day the dress had a fault, the seam was coming undone.
I hadn't wear the dress before, it came like this from the shop.

I have recently ordered 3 Fantasia Dresses for my Bridesmaids to wear at my wedding. As I live on the Isle of Man, these dresses were purchased online. Unfortunately one of these dresses was the wrong size, so we returned the dress and asked for it to be replaced.
Without replacing the dress we were sent our money back and told that we were to find the dress required at one of their stores as they did not offer an exchange service.
To top this off, the offer that we used to get 25% off...

Coast has some lovely dresses for that formal occasion such as a wedding or Christmas party. The shop assistants are always really friendly and don't push a sale, and in my experience give a very honest opinion when you are trying on something, a little different. They often suggest what the top, skirt, etc., would look nice with (things I hadn't even thought about). Never pushy, very friendly and fantastic customer service! (read more)

I think I first bought my blue and white lightly sequined floral oriental style top from Coast about 3 years ago, saw it in a Daily Mail feature and thought it looked pretty. Even 3 years on, it is classic and pretty and a definite favourite!
Also purchased my long-sleeved stretch nautical top with the twisted bust there and it seems better made and of better material than cheaper brands.

Coast - I have been shopping at Coast for a couple of years now and their clothes just get better and better. Their clothes are more dressy than casual (no jeans and T-shirts here) but they have moved away from being mainly occasion wear to smarter, tailored looks than can take you from day to night whilst still stocking beautifully evening wear.
It is not exactly cheap but I think the quality is well worth the prices. Not only this but the customer service is second-to-none, all Coast...

Hi there did u ever get your money back, as I have had an extremely hard time with coast trying to order my wedding dress, £695 has been taken from my account and the bank say its pending so they cant do much from there end, it's been that way for three days and I have not had an email to confirm the order. Coast emailed me after i emailed them about 4 times only to say there was no record of the order and that I should get my money back soon. I really hope I do get my money back as its a lot of money which I have saved up for months!!
I wish I had read these reviews before, and thank you for taking the time to write this review to inform others of the terrible service.
