I have had many credit cards over the years and thought I would give M&S a try, afterall the advert said they had won awards. It was a dreadful experience, very poor and intelligible customer service. It really isn't doing M&S's reputation any favours. They are lucky that have to recieve at lesat one star.
There are much better providers out there.

I would not recommend this Marks and Spencer & More Card to anyone, they have a bizarre way of crediting money to your account. I am in the process of trying to get interest refunded to me as like the previous reviewer I posted my February payment cheque for the full amount in store with plenty of time and my cheque was debited to my account within a couple of days and over a week before payment was due but still have interest added. Checking back my statements it shows cheque received then norm ...

Three months ago, one payment took over 20 days to appear on the account, after posting it in store, and I was dismayed to find the interest charge of over £6 for their fault when the next statement arrived. I rang and credited the account that day, but had to bear the interest charge. The following day, the in store cheque also went into the accout. After frustration with the M&S asian call center service, and an unanswered letter to head office, the staff at M&S Gloucester did admit ...

My partner has a credit card with Marks and Spencer I arranged a balance transfer and there is a small balance on there. I arranged to pay the remaining balance today and phoned the credit card line to see what the balance is and its gone up by £64.43 although the current balance has been £146.22 for quite a while. I've now made another payment for the £64.43 but somehow even though the balance will be ZERO by mid May they will find a way to charge him interest on £0. H ...

Had the misfortune to deal with M&S call centre employee yesterday, possibly the most frustrating, ill-informed and ultimately wasteful half hour of my life. I felt that she made no attempt to understand my problem or have any insight in the fact that Christmas post may have had any kind of impact on my situation and kept repeating "the credit agreement states ..." until I gave up trying. Card is cut up and I'll not be shopping there any more, I'm so very disappointed in a company that used to ...

The Marks and Spencer credit card is just like any other general credit card, but what attracted me to it was the 10 month 0% introductory period for new purchases. I have no money worries at the moment, but like to 'credit tart'.

I applied for an M&S credit card in some time ago. It's taken them four weeks to inform me that my application has been accepted and to send me a credit agreement to sign and return to them. I imagine it will be another couple of weeks before I receive the card. When I've tried to chase it they've been very unhelpful, just muttered something about having a backlog of applications.

Seems like some in customer services will refuse to close my account although it ' s been at a zero balance since 11th November. They all say unable to close until next statement date - then they will automatically close in this case 5th December - what happened was 5th December came and went - didn't close my account but added 33p in charges to the zero balance and next statement date shown as 5th January - got them to remove the 33p charge - now at zero again insisted on speaking to a supervis ...

Had an outstanding balance of just £8.42 and have been charged interest of £20.27! The call centre is in Asia and was useless. The interest they tell me is charged on the full amount of the item, so they have selected my most expensive charge. Feel really ripped off and have cut the card up and will not shop there again.

Took two attempts to get through to their customer services, kept waiting for over 5 minutes each time, problem not resolved (I wanted information on using the card abroad) as the employee had inadequate communication skills. He was polite but I was very dissapointed and frustrated by the lack of assistance.

I applied for an M&S credit card. Hear nothing for some weeks. My finances are healthy so should be no problem.
Finally tried to chase through the number on their website. Waited ages to be connected and was finally connected to a call centre with a staff member who was very difficult to understand. Finally I worked out that the message was "due to technical difficulties we can't give you any information - call back later".
No thanks! M&S spend a fortune on promoting their brand, how can their m ...

Like the last reviewer my interest rate has gone up 2% for no good reason. Have ordered credit report today but know we have no problems. Had immense problems after using credit card abroad, apparently they have to be informed of every trip abroad, how useless! get connected to robots who have no idea of what you are talking about, if you can understand them that is.
Don't bother, had card 23 years, now M&S can stick it up where the sun doesn't shine!

WARNING! M&S Apply massive 4% hike to &More card interest rate for no apparent reason.DO NOT get this card. For no reason the interest rate on mine has gone from 18.9% to 22.9% with no change in status or anything else. All payments are made on-time by direct debit, card is below limit. That is a 20% RISE in Interest Rate!M&S call centre do not no why and just say "nothing can be done about it". Answer:- Yes it can! The card is cut up and I am not shopping there again. ...

I had call to get cash from the M&S card whilst in Gran Canaria due to a mix-up with our debit card. I'm sure it says in the small print somewhere but I was somewhat surprised to be charged not only a £2.72 cash advance fee but also charged interest on a daily basis. I spoke to the Call Centre to query what the interest was for & entered into a 30 minute nightmare! The operator could only keep repeating the same thing & when I said I was not happy with this she said anyone I spoke to in M& ...

The call centre staff are very difficult to understand and communicate with. They seem only to be able to respond parrot fashion from a script. I dread having to speak with them to the extent that I am cancelling my card and reverting back to Goldfish whose points soon seem to mount up.

Had to speak to customer services regarding undelivered items from a company. They were absolute useless, I couldn't understand them and had to constantly asked the call centre staff to repeat herself. Apparently, your goods are not covered by the three month insurance as offered by Barclaycard.

Call Centres - usually they are fine until you have a slight problem and instead of providing a resolution, they seem to re-read a script until the customer gets annoyed and gives up. They have increased my credit limit yet I am unable to use it unless I use the card for purchases. AND it is extremely unlikely I will be taking "advantage" of the 18.9% APR offered on purchases.

I would not recommend the M&S Credit card. Their customer services are unhelpful. Even if you pay almost all the outstanding balance if it is not fully repaid, interest is charged on the full balance - including the amount already paid. e.g. on an outstanding balance of just 10 pence if the original balance was 1547, you will be charged 46.84 in interest simply for the 10 pence of credit.

Furthermore, if the balance is paid early, you will still get charged fully if the 10 pence is outs ...
