Took two attempts to get through to their customer services, kept waiting for over 5 minutes each time, problem not resolved (I wanted information on using the card abroad) as the employee had inadequate communication skills. He was polite but I was very dissapointed and frustrated by the lack of assistance.

I applied for an M&S credit card. Hear nothing for some weeks. My finances are healthy so should be no problem.
Finally tried to chase through the number on their website. Waited ages to be connected and was finally connected to a call centre with a staff member who was very difficult to understand. Finally I worked out that the message was "due to technical difficulties we can't give you any information - call back later".
No thanks! M&S spend a fortune on promoting their brand, how can their m ...

Like the last reviewer my interest rate has gone up 2% for no good reason. Have ordered credit report today but know we have no problems. Had immense problems after using credit card abroad, apparently they have to be informed of every trip abroad, how useless! get connected to robots who have no idea of what you are talking about, if you can understand them that is.
Don't bother, had card 23 years, now M&S can stick it up where the sun doesn't shine!

WARNING! M&S Apply massive 4% hike to &More card interest rate for no apparent reason.DO NOT get this card. For no reason the interest rate on mine has gone from 18.9% to 22.9% with no change in status or anything else. All payments are made on-time by direct debit, card is below limit.That is a 20% RISE in Interest Rate!M&S call centre do not no why and just say "nothing can be done about it". Answer:- Yes it can! I had call to get cash from the M&S card whilst in Gran Canaria due to a mix-up with our debit card. I'm sure it says in the small print somewhere but I was somewhat surprised to be charged not only a £2.72 cash advance fee but also charged interest on a daily basis. I spoke to the Call Centre to query what the interest was for & entered into a 30 minute nightmare! The call centre staff are very difficult to understand and communicate with. They seem only to be able to respond parrot fashion from a script. I dread having to speak with them to the extent that I am cancelling my card and reverting back to Goldfish whose points soon seem to mount up.

Had to speak to customer services regarding undelivered items from a company. They were absolute useless, I couldn't understand them and had to constantly asked the call centre staff to repeat herself. Apparently, your goods are not covered by the three month insurance as offered by Barclaycard.

Call Centres - usually they are fine until you have a slight problem and instead of providing a resolution, they seem to re-read a script until the customer gets annoyed and gives up. They have increased my credit limit yet I am unable to use it unless I use the card for purchases. AND it is extremely unlikely I will be taking "advantage" of the 18.9% APR offered on purchases.

I am very disappointed that Marks & Spencer has decided to stop
taking cheques from the 1st March. My mother always pays by
cheques, I am sure they will find there sales go down even
further next year! I am really fed up with the whole process of
payment within most stores.

I would not recommend the M&S Credit card. Their customer services are unhelpful. Even if you pay almost all the outstanding balance if it is not fully repaid, interest is charged on the full balance - including the amount already paid. e.g. on an outstanding balance of just 10 pence if the original balance was 1547, you will be charged 46.84 in interest simply for the 10 pence of credit.
Furthermore, if the balance is paid early, you will still get charged fully if the 10 pence is outs ...

They have a very bad payment system and customer service. I would not recommend anyone to use the & More Card! Online payment doesn't always work. They do not send you an email to confirm receipt for your payment. Thus I thought I'd paid online as the accept payment screen appeared but I was charged interest and late payment when I paid online as I had not proof of payment. I feel this is a very bad online service. Another member of my family paid by cheque in store and that payment took 20 day ...

The call center that deals with the calls is one of the worst I have ever dealt with, deviate from the script and it seems that they have no idea what is going on.
I got a replacement card as there had been a fraudulent transaction on my card. I didn't get a form I was apparently going to be sent to sign to say I had not made the transaction. When I called to ask what was going on the person did not have a clue, at a time like this you need good customer service, this is certainly not somethi ...

My Marks & Spencer & More Card is now cut up. I will take advantage of the interest free period but that wont make up for the £12 late payment charge already incurred, or the fact I am not sure all payments have been made for goods ordered as I can not find this information until payment has been received this will take five days.

Don't get this card if you want access to funds abroad. I have been told by their answer centre that you have to tell them every time you visit a country outside the UK, or phone a UK number (at your expense) every time you wish to make a transaction. The Marks and Spencer & More credit card is the most useless credit card I have ever had for purchases abroad. By the way, I have a good credit rating, so it is nothing to do with my financial standing.

Marks & Spencer & More credit card staff need to learn that not everyone is a non-payer! My cheque was lost in the post, but I was treated as a bad non-payer (cheques can and do go missing sometimes). They also keep phoning me every night, even though a new cheque was sent straight away.

I've had a credit card with M&S since its inception, and always paid off the complete balance. Last month I forgot. I paid it as soon as I realised, but I got a letter threatening to report me to a credit agency as I was £11 in arrears. Yes £11. I called them and was put through to an overseas call centre. They could not assist.

They are a competent, efficient organisation, who offer a moderate value on rewards (0% on furniture purchases over £1000 is quite good), and I have no complaints, other than the general irritant of having to confirm ones identity, even for the most minor of enquiries about the card in general, not my specific card. I have waited to speak to a Marks * Spencer & More credit card service advisor for 1 hour on two separate occasions! The 0% balance transfer is good, but the customer service and time spent waiting on the phone is terrible. I was unable to pay my bill!

I really enjoy shopping at M&S; mostly due to the great customer service. However, I cannot say the same for their staff in their offshore call centres. Although, they were polite, they do not REALLY understand. They are very inflexible. It is for this reason that I would not recommend applying for the Marks & Spencer & More credit card.
