Good Points: Home media software for configuring PDA as remote control for most types of device is cool (and may help to discover previously unknown functionality on a device) Sound is surprisingly good. Battery life is good. I have used machine on and off for past couple of weeks and not had to recharge it.
Bad Points: Camera button for taking photo is poorly placed. Hand-writing recognition software was very poor when I tried it but the on screen keyboard is just fine to use. It is hard to find development tools for writing your own PDA software (general issue not just relating to this PDA).
General comments: It was easy to get going with the basics of the HP iPAQ rx3715 - the docking bay is good and the software is easy to install.
WiFi was a little difficult to get going as I already had a home network with hidden SSID (wireless network id). This PDA does not support SSID with whitespace in it (so I had to rename my network) and also cannot detect a network with hidden SSID even if it knows the SSID to look for and the WEP code to use. The trouble with not hiding SSID is that other people can see your network but if you use WEP you should still be okay.
Relating to WiFi when I was first having trouble connecting to my home network I ran the PDA self test and the WiFi part of the test froze (perhaps deadlocked) and the WiFi hardware was left switched on and drained the battery big time. Only a hard reset (look in the manual) solved this problem and turned the WiFi off so I could get going with it again.
The screen is good and responds well to the stylus, and the operating system seems quite stable.
I would not use the built-in camera for important photographs. It is good enough for unusual photo opportunities but the quality while good enough is far from amazing.
The camera button is in not-such-a-good place because it is very easy to press by accident when removing PDA from the very decent protective wallet that comes with it.
I have not tried the video and music editing/streaming features although I see no reason why this machine could not support MP3 - other reviews I read mentioned it wasn't supported but someone would have to tell me why a piece of software could not rectify that particular problem.
