The city of Salzburg is the birthplace of Mozart and the historic old town is home to some of the most beautiful architecture in Europe. The Salzburg Christmas Market is located in the main square in the old town and is full of stalls selling traditional hand made wooden toys, jewellery, trinkets, candles, etc.

The huge Christmas tree dominates the square and the sound of carols sung by candlelight floats across the market as you shop. We were very lucky having snow when we travelled there... (read more)
