Breathe are the worst ISP on the planet. They took over Ecosse.net who were a great ISP run by Calico. Since Breathe got ther grubby paws on them they have gone down the drain. No access to email, then introducing a charge for a service that doesn't work. Web space disappeared overnight to be replaced by an internal server error. Contacted Breathe by email and the replied to a completely different complaint and only after I made a complaint to ISPA....
This ISP should be shut down by the Internet authorities... they should not be in business!!!

YOUR MONEY IS AT RISK!!!Beware this ISP Breathe! You may if you wish believe their story about problems with Direct debit, but if you paid by debit card over the phone, cancel the card NOW and get another. They have started punishing people like me who got so annoyed with them they cancelled the service (in my case by fax), by taking further subscriptions against the card several days in a row. And no, the bank will NOT refund your money - I know.- Read Guest's review (85 words)

In all truth, I cannot give ANY rating to Breathe.com for any of the above sections, but it will not be accepted unless I give it at least 1 Star. Like many others who have written reviews, I came to Breathe as an unwilling and un-asked customer from another ISP which up to the time Breathe took over, was really very good, and I never had cause for complaint. Now, I cannot get ANY e-mail and if there is anybody out there who can tell me how to persuade the Breathe servers to release my email, ...- Read Guest's review (202 words)

I have been a customer of Breathe for many years. Until last year their service was free for the use of e-mail & this was very reliable. Then they introduced their charges & I agreed to pay for the lowest level service which continued as before. Since the beginning of 07/09 the whole service has gone absolutely haywire. They suggested that they were improving the service level, but listen guys, you've messed up big time! This is rubbish! Why should I now be waiting almost a minute for webma ...- Read Guest's review (107 words)

This is a sub-standard service,I would not recommend it to anyone. I was recently without a service for about four days without prior notice. It has recently been updated by Breathe.com but it is awful.- Read Guest's review (37 words)

Regarding Breathe.com
Each time time they change their platforms, as they put it, it screws up my email. I had 50+ until the other day - they seem to have gone and I now have only c. 10.
Their rubbish helpdesk is open only 9am-5pm, there is an 0905 number to call outside of office hours at a cost of 60p per minute but it rings a few times and cuts off.
There no email address to contact them despite an email from a member of staff. I tried replying and it bouces back.
They are a joke. I've ...- Read Guest's review (110 words)

I inherited breathe.com when they took over my current ISP who I had been with for years and had provided a reliable service. The standard of service immediately declined and a 60p per minute charge was imposed on the tech helpline. A subscription increase of over 40% was made without any prior warning, which violated the terms and conditions of contract. I cannot find anywhere on their website a postal address to contact to cancel my contract with them and get a refund. Breathe.com went bankrup ...- Read pward48's review (142 words)

I do not recommend breathe.com provider. Also, just remember that if you wish to cancel your account from them, and you are told to ring the 60p a minute phone line, rather than cancel online, DON'T! There is nothing in the contract saying that you have to pay to leave them, which is what you are doing by being forced to ring their extortionate phone line. Just cancel your debit/credit card if you need to, and get a new one.- Read Guest's review (131 words)

I've been offline for 4 days now, with no explanation from Breathe.
The customer helpline is an 0901 number at 60p per minute, and my telephone won't dial 0901 numbers..!!
Useless broadband service. Avoid at all costs.- Read bespoken's review (43 words)

Customer services have been unhelpful I've been trying to close my account for 3 months, they still take out my money as far as I am
In my opinion they have not yet contacted me and leaving me to phone there premium rate phone, found it hard to talk to customer service.- Read Guest's review (52 words)

I became a customer of Breathe, not by choice, but as far as I am aware because they bought up my old ISP. For many years I'd had a 'no problems' internet experience with appleonline, who became macunlimited. Breathe changed that. They lost my stored emails (deciding to 'upgrade' the system with no forewarning, no advice to back up), I have never managed to access my webspace since they took over ...and they just are not interested in helping in my opinion.I do not recommend www.breathe.com. ...- Read Guest's review (113 words)

A simple call to a technician would sort the problem quickly or indeed an address to write to but to be requested to go to a website when the whole lot is down is not helpful. We went for years with 'ecosse' without any problems and could telephone a very helpful and knowledgeable staff if and when things went a little astray!- Read Guest's review (159 words)

Never go with ISP's who don't advertise a free technical support line/email. The guys on their phone lines are quite polite and friendly but have clearly no idea what is going on "behind the scenes". The status reports on their website usually say "no problems" even when you can't get into them! Having said that, they are very poor on customer service.

I am glad I am not the only one with these problems.
About 2 weeks ago, for a period of about 3 weeks, their service kept going down at about 8/8.30pm at night and often would not come back till the morning. Only at the end of this period did they acknowledge anything was wrong at all!
Now, having signed for their 2Mbps service, I find I have an average download speed of 300kbps. A BT engineer who was checking my line for problems said they "had heard of them" and that in my case they we ...- Read sambda's review (183 words)

Our email went down at the end of March and is still down. We changed email addresses to a professional company from Breathe. They unilaterally changed our email addresses and did not tell us or even redirect any messages. Their helplines are rarely manned and when they do answer a pre planned script is read out. Do not go anywhere near this company.- Read henryk's review (63 words)

Breathe is so poor it can hardly be called a service. It has been on and offine for the past two months, once for a period of four weeks with no explanation and a customer service number which was hardly ever answered probably because the poor staff manning the lines seemed to have no idea of when service would be resumed or why there was no service. Most of my email from this period has been lost, presumably erased. It is now once again out of service with no explanation and I am taking very ...- Read breathless's review (107 words)

I stayed with Breathe when they promised a competitive broadband service and improved reliability. Their broadband offer is poor - slow speeds at high prices compared with other ISPs. They offer up to 1Mb for £14.99 a month. For this price you can get up to 8Mb with most other ISPs.
Breathe does not provide its own service but uses Spider Networks. They don't seem to have any control over their service.- Read artmo's review (156 words)
