This review is for the SMK 3-9 X 56 scope, optically it is ok, but the problem is with the zoom and focussing. When you change the power setting the scope doesn't hold focus, And no matter what distance you focus on and get the crosshairs crisp, as soon as you zoom they go out of focus, I'm not impressed and wouldn't recommend it, I bought this cheap in a sale on holiday, so I'll probably flog it at a car boot sale

I own two 3-9x40 scopes, the other being a BSA so my review is based on the comparison between them. The SMK scope is well built and has a good clear field of view upto the high extremity of zoom (8-9x) where it starts to become a little dull and almost milky especially in low light however overall in use it does all you ask of it and the zoom ring although starting off quite stiff soon becomes easy to use. Although I usually favour using the BSA I really would recommend buying the SMK especiall ...

This scope has proven to be very good for short range shooting once the objective lense was adjusted so that the paralax was more suited to close range air rifle work. Full magnifacation at 25 metres with total clarity. Though once i had done this i found that i could not use max zoom on a 50 metre range but i would not take a shot at that range when hunting any way. The objective lense was easy to adjust, wind out the lock ring a little and then wind the lense carrier to the desired amount the ...

Single piece aluminum body nitrogen-filled scope in matt black & of general robust construction. N.B it looks nothing like the picture at the head of this review, thank goodness.
Clear bright optics with a hair-fine Mildot reticle. Scope is about a foot long, so may not suit a smaller build of gun & is an inch longer than the plain 4x40's more due to an extended "hood" over the objective lens (a good thing to cut down on glare)
Adjustment for windage & elevation are a nice clear cl ...

I got my SMK 3-9x40 scope a few months ago on eBay for 28 quid as a cheap hunting scope and I cant fault it. It does exactly what it claims with an unexpected air of quality. A very bright scope with a nice smooth zoom, separate focus ring, sharp looking Mil-dot, nice brush black casing and easily adjustable turrets. I've used the scope on three different rifles so far and never failed to hit the mark after zeroing at 35 yards for .177 and 25 yards for .22. This scope is easily as good as the eq ...

It is a very accurate and clear scope, and I would recommend this scope to anyone! Once the SMK 3-9x40 scope is zeroed in, you can't miss unless you are a bad shot!

The SMK 3-9x40, an excellent scope for air rifles. RRP in the UK of £40 and that's what I bought mine for. Variable zoom (3-9x40 of course) and a seperate focus eye piece also, which is a nice feature.

Clear crosshairs with elevation and wind notches and you'll get a nice view of 30 yards. Any more and the target at max zoom with start to seem very small!

    Well worth the money.

I bought the SMK 3-9x40 scope with an SMK DB4 Underlever which was a terrible airgun so i bought, well.. got for my birthday, an Edgar Bros. M.60. I kept the scope and returned the rest of the DB4 kit for extra "funding". I popped the scope on top and was in heaven. It never lost it's zero, even on a full power springer. When i got an Air-Arms s200 and gave the Edgar to my dad, i nicked the scope and stuck it on top. If it is possible it was even better on a pre-charged. I have to say, Chinese/J ...
