Ordered around a thousand pounds worth of furniture on line and was given 20/12/12 as a delivery date. After a colleague told me horror stories about that service I spent 45 min on phone to chase it, then was told I had been given the 27th and nothing could be done till 2nd but no one saw fit to let me know. My children and I will have to spend christmas in an empty new house without furniture, thanks ikea, never again! (read more)

Awful customer support! I received my order of 3 desks, but was missing 7 legs. The shipping company IKEA used told me that I received the right number of items and if I had a problem I had to take it up IKEA. After waiting on hold for 45 min. I was told by IKEA that the shipping company had screwed up and that they had to give them 48 hours to search their warehouse to find the missing legs. 48 hours later I called back after receiving NO follow up from IKEA. Again waited on hold for 45... (read more)

Ikea have a good catalogue and prices are very good - you do pay for what you get but the standard is still ok, i bought a lovely glastop coffee table and other bits like cube shelving that look good and are easy enough to build [husbands ok with a screwdriver!] (read more)

I'm generally a fan of Ikea but had never bought from them online before. I ordered a white Ektorp sofa in December which was delivered in January at the expected time. The delivery men managed to drop the sofa outside in a muddy puddle - it was unwrapped so it got muddy and scuffed. The box containing covers was also damaged and the contents were exposed and dirty. I asked the delivery guys to return it and wrote on the delivery paperwork that the goods were damaged and I rejected them. I... (read more)

I wish I'd read reviews before placing my order with Ikea online. I was given an estimated delivery date 8 days from the date I placed my order. Three days after paying for my goods (a few hundred pounds), DHL contacted me with an actual delievery date 26 days from the date I placed the order. This date was no good for me as I would be away on holiday then straight back to work afterwards so could not push the delivery back. On contacting Ikea customer services they said they have the... Ordered two lamps from Ikea Online, one was fine but the shade on the second was badly damaged. This could be to do with the fact that they arrive packed together in a jiffy bag, with no padding or protection. Called the same day to arrange an exchange and was told that I'd be contacted within two days with the details of the delivery. I foolishly assumed they meant that I'd have my replacement lamp in two days, however, I received an email two days later informing me that the exchange would... (read more)

Order on line told you will receive a call within 72 hours to confirm delivery date (original estimate 12 days on odere) no contact until 6 days after money taken from account, to say they have cancelled the order and re-ordered with an estimated delivery date of 4 weeks. Customer Services (now there's a fantasy title) say there was a computer crash! so order never went though, funny how money was withdrawn from my account! So new order issued with the extended delivery estimate. After... (read more)

IKEA has delivered a fantastic kitchen. Also the Assembly service was quite alricght, with skilled people who know what they are talking about.
We did have a problem with one of the doors after a couple of months but IKEA has solved this problem very quickly by sending us a new door and sending the assembly service to change the doors. If people come and visit us at home and take a look in our kitchen they often don't believe that it is an IKEA kitchen that they are looking at. Everything...

I've avoided the Swedish oversized Tardis for as long as I can remember. Something about a furniture company that only sold items you built yourself always struck me as half a service (without the expected price reduction). However, I was on the look out for a bookshelf-ish TV solution and Ikea was the only place that had one so I decided to bite the bullet and order on line. Two guys delivered it on time in the morning and moved the three MASSIVE boxes up three flights of stairs. Also they... (read more)

Went to Ikea for furniture after Argos let me down by delaying my expected order without informing me. Excellent service. I was kept informed every step of the way. I was told I would be first delivery and by 7.20 am everything had arrived. The driver had even called en route to say he was 20 mins away. None of that waiting in all day wondering when - or even IF - the delivery would arrive. (read more)

With all the hype in Plano, Texas, my wife and I made the journey through the big blue box (Ikea) on the prairie. Well, we could not make our way out fast enough. We felt like we were in furniture hell. I would not give you a plug nickel for anything in the store. It felt like I was in a super-charged Dollar Store. (read more)

I found this review not helpful because the reviewer does not say ANYTHING factual about IKEA. If you don't like the styles then just say so but don't be childish and judge the company while the problem lies within yourselves.

I disagree...
Fact1: They have a variety of stuff
Fact2: Different designs to most Ameriacn stores
Fact3: Herded through the store
Fact4:They could not make their way our fast enough!
Fact5: Felt like they were in furniture hell
Fact6:They felt like they were in a super-charged dollar store
Where does the problem lay?
