Good Points: Customer services answered quickly and were able to clarify that their website was broken

Bad Points: Website BrokenCustomer Service Unable to HelpStorefront do not answer phoneI have been unable to buy the product I want and am unwilling to deal with PC World again.

General comments: PC World Website ordering system doesn't work. I repeatedly put my information into the system only for it to turn me out onto the front page.I spoke to customer services who was thoughtful but eventually admitted she had the same problem - admitted defeat and put me through to the store... who didn't answer the phone. Sigh.

omg worst coverplan ever from PC World! Dont do it! Taken over 6 weeks to replace a charger then they tell me they are writing off a computor that has NOTHING wrong with it. The av had a loose connection thats all. unhelpfully sent me round three different companies, none of which could give me any eta. Having been told the lead time would be max 10 working days, i am now on the 53rd day. Plus they addressed my letter to someone else. How incompetant and stupid can they possibly be? Astoundingly ...

Ordered item on line to be collected at the store. Efficient service, staff carried the item to my car and loaded it in the boot for me. Item ( manager's chair) exactly what I required, very good value for the money. Easy to assemble.Very satisfied with the service, goods and competency of all involved. Thank you. PC web page indicated that the item was available at the store, I reserved the item then half an hour later was telephoned to say that the store no longer supplied furniture. Web pag ...

We brought a laptop from PC world about 3 years ago. We had it for about 3 months before it stopped working. We tried to take it back and wanted a refund... but they wouldn't let us. They provided us with a number to ring to have someone pick it up. They came, collected and brought it back 2 weeks later... 4 months after it stopped working again. With the same problem. We tried yet again to take it back to PC world and was met with the same response. So yet again, we had it collected, waited 2 w ...

Our new Dell Inspiron failed to boot up and we sent it back to PC World. They said that we must be hitting the disable button on the keyboard and that their technical support team had now fixed the 'Disable button'.It came back and after a few more days it refused to boot up again. Back it went to PC World only to be returned with a note saying that their Technical guys had now 'Disabled the Disable button'?! It happened a third time. This time we rang Dell and were talked through a diagnosis ...

I wanted a Laptop around the £800 mark but this was not set in stone, one of the sales staff came running over and I asked then what they had in stock. A blank look came over his face so i said I like these 4 laptops what do you have in stock? Again he looked confused... so I asked him to go and check the stock. He came back and said they had none... so I looked to pay a little more, sent my helper away and again he came back said he had none... so I left the store after he informed me th ...

I bought a brand new Acer laptop today for £899. For once PC World were actually cheaper than the internet for a product. I asked once of the staff members if the laptop had space to fit a second hard drive which he replied no. Being a large multimedia laptop I told him that more often than not they do have space for a second drive and asked him to check. He went over to the Mac section with me to have a look at the tech spec on the internet as he said, and I quote; 'I don't know how to o ...

I bought a laptop from Sony over a year and half ago... got a message on the laptop not long back saying the hard drive was failing and to back up data.... which I did. Laptop was running fine still but after a week I thought I should take it to the Tech guys at PC World. I paid them 69.99 and they said they would call me in a few days once they had ran tests on the machine. A few days later I got the call saying to come pick up my laptop, upon arriving at PC World they said they had ran diag ...

I bought a laptop from PC World and at the time foolishly took out a one year insurance. Laptop seemed faulty from the moment I turned it on. Despite sending it back and sending several letters, I kept being told that my contract was with PC world support. I felt as though they totally ignored my rights. Turns out that the memory card was faulty, however despite their so called tests they did not pick up on this. Apparently a friend who knows about computers tested it and said it was evident ...

Some of the cheap prices they offer online are not guaranteed to be available in-store. I was looking for a tv card offered at £10 less if you book it online and then go in store they stated it was not in stock in store when I tried to book it. When I went into the shop it was available so went directly home and tried to book it with the same result apparently no stock? This has happened to me time and again with other products. I am truly sick of them and will never go in to a PC World a ...

I brought a £1000 H.P computer in October 2007 from PC World, I had trouble with the keyboard and mouse in December and was promised that a new one would be sent to me. After numerous calls I eventually got a new keyboard last week almost 6 months later.

I purchased some software, but had problems installing it onto my computer, I contacted the number for support, (the store number is not listed) and was given 7 options on the phone menu, after choosing several of the options along the way, I finished up holding a dead phone as I was not prepared to pay for software support on a product I had only owned for 4-5 hours. There is supposed to be a free software support on the web but all that gives are premium phone lines.

Bought a computer worth £550 which was meant to come with speakers, went back and despite showing them their website, they were very reluctant to provide speakers. They did eventually after about 15 minutes arguing.

PC world are disgustingly bad after you have given them your money and they just done care about you after that. i would strongly advise people dont buy from them, ever. I kept getting out through to different departments who then sent me back to the same department i had rant before. No one knew how to help me. Their in store staff are full of you know what and said they had fixed my PC when they may as well have not touched it. They don't read emails properly as i put i refused to ring them ag ...

I went in to my local PC world. Met at door by three staff. Wow, getting better I thought. Can we help? Yes, I want the best PC for gaming , a dvd surround sound system and a HD TV all to work together. Met with blank stares. You will find all that over there, one said. Give us a shout if you need any help. What did he think I had just asked him for. Pathetic!

They don't support their warranty, when you ask for after sales help they just try to flog you services that cannot be of any help, they don't read emails properly and generally don't know the meaning of "customer care"

I am not happy about buying products from PC World. I think some of there staff do not have a clue about computers, grumpy and the majority of them were ignorant. Some staff were walking around scruffy and calling themselves managers.I have dealt with them over the past few years and I am not happy with the service. Not at all helpful when you have a serious problem like selling computers that are returned faulty and sold again as new with all your personal info on them.

I use PC World regularly for the basic stuff, and have bought a number of computers from them over the years. Personally I'd never ask them for help or advice, but as a good value source of computers, and other bits you can't really go wrong as they're always happy to replace faulty parts and tend not to argue when they know that you are right.
