Good Points: Good easy to use until it started to go wrong!

Bad Points: Beyond economic repair after two years!

General comments: When the DigiFusion FVRT100 worked it was excellent. Then started to freeze, on playback. Then get a mind of its own, deciding to break into the TV channel you were watching, refuse to switch off. Helpline was initially impossible to contact - lots of music and apologies - but easier later in week. There is also help e-mail, here I was recommended to upgrade power-supply from 3Amps to 4-5, but is this good money after bad? The phone help-line engineer felt is was more than power-supply, but the hard-drive itself. So its the bin (sorry recycle) for the Digifusion. I don't think I will purchase another Digifusion product.

I had the DigiFusion FVRT100 "box" and for the first 18 months thought it was absolutely brilliant then it started to go wrong. A new power supply was the first thing, then it would get slower and slower and simply stop working. Response from the digifusion customer support was varied. I was given a few "re-set" fixes that worked at first but then achieved nothing. (I was having to re-set the box daily) Finally and with some reluctance I have slung the thing out. I have not found anything ...

I bought my "box" as a refurbished item just to evaluate a new technology at a cheap price, then if I thought it worthwhile I would buy a more up-market one... It worked fine for a couple of days and I was very pleased with it until it froze, this was overcome by switching it off and on again. However after a few days of this continually happening I decided to open up the box to have a look (I am a competant electrical techo)... I realised that there was a possible heat problem with the hard dri ...

I am very satisfied with the performance of the DigiFusion FVRT100. However I utterly detest companies who treat their customers like dirt. I am going up to Comet/Currys now to buy another hard drive recorder after yet another total loss of recorded programmes with Digifusion machine. I see many other customers have had absolutely poor response from this company when they had similar problems.

For the first 18 months I was pleased with the performance of my DigiFusion FVRT100. However, now there is no longer any warranty it is failing on a daily basis. The support team had to replace the mains supply unit under warranty some time ago, but I am now finding the unit dying overnight. It will either display an incorrect time (presumably the time when it fails) or will show a channel number, but in either event it will not respond to either the remote control or the standby switch on the f ...

I've owned this Digifusion for more than two years, and have always thought it quite brilliant. There is a very substantial "BUT" which I'll get to in the last few paragraphs though... Most people will be familiar with the concept of a PVR by now, but to explain - this PVR (personal video recorder) has two Freeview tuners on board, and a hard disk. This means it can record from up to two channels at once (if your favourite programmes happen to clash while you're out) or you can simply watch o ...

I'm on my second power supply for the unit for my DigiFusion, and although it has not given me a lot of problems I will look at an alternative when this one goes toes up.

I have had mains power adaptor replaced, then the box was sent away for a replacement. The £50 - plus £9.50 to send it back - re-furbished replacement arrived and just never worked. Contacted Digifusion and was on hold for about 30 minutes listening to Musak. ("HOLD" is what they are famous for by the way as the display on the box constantly says "Hold" but will do nothing else) Finally got to speak to someone who told me I would get a "doorstep replacement". A doorstep would have b ...

There is no noise with it as on other reviews and its very easy to use. Picture quality drops on EP recording and slight ghosting at times would definitely buy a new one when this one has had it.

Jun 2007 - we bought ours in August 2005, to date it has worked reasonably well, apart from the fan being very noisy and the power supply blowing up (which Digifusion did replace as they had extended the warranty on that beyond the ordinary 1 year). However last week there was an upgrade overnight, and since that time, rather suspiciously my box has ceased working. Digifusion gave us the instructions on the first call to do a factory reset, which we did, however this has not solved the problem. ...

I would NEVER purchase a Digifusion product again. The build quality on the FVRT100 is poor. The fan is noisy and the case is cheap and tinny.

Have experienced loss of material on the FVRT100s hard drive and unit going to 'hold' overnight. Also now experiencing complete loss of power presumably, after reading other reviews, that I also have a faulty power cable. Seriously looking at other options of obtaining Freeview and forgo the aggravation other people have experienced obtaining a replacement power cable, only to find that may not solve the problem

Mine has blown two power packs so far and freezes about once a month. OK, it resets easily, switch it off and on again and wait a minute or so but it's annoying. When it works it's very good but we can only use it at standard recording speed. Whenever we tried to get more on the disc, the sound and picture lost synchronisation after 20-30 minutes, again this is simple to fix, stop playback, go to the nearest frame and start again but really annoying for most recordings and difficult to underst ...

I have had a FVRT100 for about 14 months. From new, I got the EP9 message, and was advised that this was a software problem exacerbated if the machine was trying to compress a recording when the EPG was being broadcast (approx 3am) as the unit records on SP then takes up to 3 hours to compress the recording to LP. I was advised that this would be cured with an imminent software upgrade. As the problem persisted after the software upgrade, I was then advised that the problem was my aeriel as the ...

I have owned my FVRT100 for 13 months & other than minor niggles mentioned above I have had no major problems. However, two weeks ago I woke up one morning to find that it had frozen & the screen just said 'hold' as it does when initializing. As this didn't go, I disconnected the power & reconnected but this time no power was going to the unit. I tried this several times before calling the DigiFusion helpline. They advised my unit would just need a new power cable & to send a copy of my receipt ...

Having used this product for 12 months, I would not make another purchase from Fusion Digitech. I have had one or two small problems but the main one has been with the actual power supply. In a period of 12 months, the power supply unit has burnt out twice. Having contacted the company yet again, I was told that the unit was only guaranteed for a period of 3 months. On making a third purchase and finding it to be faulty, I returned the product to the company, who would not send out a repla ...

The DigiFusion FVRT100 is a good cheap recorder with two freeview tuners. Unfortunately the box freezes on a regular basis and needs to be disconnected form the power supply to reset it. This week the box died - I contacted customer support who were very helpful, they advised me that it needs a new power cable, I sent my receipt and they emailed immediately advising me one was on its way, a week later there's no sign of it. I tried other power cables I have and none of them could coax a ...

I could have got a reconditioned one for £50 and sent mine back but I figured the 3 month warranty was not really worth it. After reading all the reviews on this page I decided to shop around for another make and have bought a Daewoo DSD 9503 for £135 it has 80 hours recording time, can tape 2 programmes at once and is very very quiet. The programme guide is not as good as the FVRT100 but the other benefits and ease of use more than compensate. Hope this helps.

I sent an email to tech support about whether any of these problems could be better managed and I got a quick reply. (No, there is no upgraded software for better menus nor alternative source for the EPG.)
