Loved the Captain's hotel, the barmaids/hotel reps were so friendly and make us feel really welcome. The area is beautiful, sea only a short walk and did some great snorkelling there too! Footpaths are a little uneven so watch your step! One of the best holidays I have ever been on, made better by the lovely staff at the hotel, would definitely recommend.

The Argassi town is relativly quiet. Much more lively at the neighbouring town, Laganas (13£ taxi or 3£ to hire mo-peds per day). Horrible beach in Argassi. Narrow and shingles. St Nicholas beach, Alkes and Laganas beaches are gorgeous. Day cruises of the island are not worth going on as it got very boring and the seas get rough. A short cruise to Smugglers Cove and back would be much more advisable. Traditional Greek food is very good and relativly cheap. Cocktails are 3 - 5 Euros.
