Teaches kids on how racism and hatred could lead people to be insane. I didn't like that it tells kids, " When the going gets tough the tough get going". It is a good over all book.

Christopher Paul Curtis, The Watsons Go To Birmingham - In his Newbery Honor Book, Christopher Paul Curtis writes about a family that goes to Birmingham when Byron the oldest is uncontrollable and needs some shaping up with his Grandma Sands. One of my favorite parts is when Byron is playing Nazi's Parachutes attack America and Get Shot Down over the Flint River by Captian Byron Watson and His Flamethrower of Death. It's hilarious!
