    Good Points: Reception, price.

    Bad Points: Battery, no WAP.

General comments: The Alacatel 301 is a mobile phone that is worth its money. Very good reception and some useful features like calendar, calculator and currency converter. However, it doesn't support WAP and has a NiMH battery that could be better.

I agree with the spaniard on the Alcatel 301 mobile phone. DJ FAR did not really understand the features of this gr8 value for money cell phone. It's cheap, solid, and small. To top it off, its reception and clarity is definitely very good. I would definitely recommend this set to those who just need gr8 value for money!

The Alcatel 301 mobile phone is excellent value for money. After using the handsfree on the 301, just started wondering why many of the expensive phones did not think of this feature. I found that the handsfree works best, if you have your car charger connected when you go handsfree.

Been using my alcatel 301 mobile phone for 6 months, and can just about live with it. It's cheap and quite small, the reception quality is good but the transmission quality is poor, with the listener on the other end, getting a lot of interference and loud hissing, and might even think that you were in a violent storm! I've tested it on the virgin and 1-2-1 network. (1-2-1 being sligtly clearer)
The menu moves slowly with the cheap plastic tridirectional middle button. Making a cheap clicking s ...

The Alcatel 301 is a great mobile phone for the cost that I needed to pay for it. Has more than all features that I expected it to provide me with. Its helpful sms messaging editor makes message writing fast. Has a strong speaker for handsfree talking and facility to connect some effective accessories as well. Has a cute look with variable front panel that give opportunity to change colors with moods. A dependable LONG battery life makes me carefree while carrying the mobile to the jungle etc fo ...

Nice little mobile phone, I like the hands free function and the batteries seem to last all week on standby. Not too hard to navigate around the menu system either. Better than my Philips savvy for reception as well.
It's a pity that the "hands free" speakerphone option has to be selected everytime you want to use it as it won't stay put in that mode. The jog dial to adjust the volume and navigate the menu system can be a tad picky at times if you don't hit it just right, selecting the wrong ...

I was looking for a cheap and a good set so I bought Alcatel 301. I thought it would be good but it turned out to be a real miserable one... it's voice quality is really low and it has no volume control which is worse from any thing else.

I have used many mobiles so far from Motorola V50 to Siemens S3, including Siemens M35, and many NOKIAs. I recommend this mobile phone which is excellent for its price. It features WAP, up to 5 line display, melody composer and so many gadgets. It also has games (but really hard to play them). the only thing you may dislike is the screen color which is orange. if not well done, you have a mobile phone smaller than 3310, S35 (Siemens) and many Ericssons and still very reliable.
