My research led me to believe that this is a formidable starter gun at a great price, so I bought one for my 11 year old and I yesterday. He's not missed a can at 20yds once all day. I'm grouping within 3 inches, but we are both beginners so I'm sure we'll achieve even better results with practice.
We fitted a Nikko Sterling Mountmaster 4x40 scope which fits easily against the standard scope stop. The auto safety catch is excellent and there were no problems with cocking the rifle or the recoil that I have occasionally read about. The wood is lovely and the build quality seems very good.
This is a no-brainer starter gun which is capable of taking you to far more demanding levels.
It's a heck of a lot more gun than I expected for £99.

i own a hatsan mod60 w/o safety feature. i think it is the older version for this model. i shoot opensight from 15yards to a soda can and i consistently hit my target. tried at 30yards and hit 6-7 out of 10 shots. i think its accurate enough for hunting small games beyond 30yards and the power is enough to take down small games at this distance,

I have bought Hatsan air rifle Mod60 (.22 cal) in April 2009. It has totally failed me. I have sent my comments about three days back. I was hoping for placement in the review website. It appears that the reviewing board has taken out. Now I know that all reviews are for cheating only. Bye bye to your brand. I will tell everybody that you are cheats.

I bought my Hatsan air rifle model 60, cr .22. last April 2009. I practiced shooting for about 700 pellet; I became absolutely frustrated. The more I shot, the worse it became. It is not at all accurate. I tried all my best to adjust but to no avail. I tried with Diabolo Baracuda pellet, my favourite, but the gun could not carry the weight. Lastly I tried with lightweight flat head pellet. I show a little bit of improvement. I could hit a 330ml cocacola can from a distance of 10 metres. This is ...

I went to my local dealer with the intention of buying the SMK SX19 .22 spring air rifle which I had researched heavily. After trying out the SMK XS19 I wasn't as impressed as I'd hoped to be. The assistant also pointed out to me the Hatsan Mod60s .22 rifle which I'd never heard of. It was obviously more powerful and the accuracy was better with the Hatsan. The whole build quality felt better, as well as some nice carving on the wooden parts. At first the Hatsan felt a little heavy, but after a ...

Having bought a hatsan mod 60s brand new for a good price of £85 (this was reduced from £135) i find it is a goos value for money gun, it is good for begginers and expierienced shooters alike. I am a regular shooter and out of all the guns i have handled none of them are as accurate as the mod 60s. having fitted a scope makes it not as accurate but able to see your target better. i reccomend a 3-9x40 scope for this gun as is it about right for the power and distance of the gun. I own ...

I have had this Hatsan rifle 6 months and think it is great. At 80ft can hit clusters of within 1". I do find that Field Target Trophy pellets are the reason for this good cluster. I have tried others but not as good. Rifle has good weight and looks the part. Have fitted Nikko Stirling scope and find that it makes an ideal package.

The trigger needed some work when i first bought it, but following some advice found here i got that sorted out without too much fuss. Its cheap, solid and well made. i like the finish and feel of the Hatsan 60 cr .22 rifle, also the walnut looks the part. Fitted it with my old 4 * 16 scope and im ready to go. With the limited muzzle velocity that uk air rifles are inflicted with im getting groupings of about 4cm at 25metres. hope to bring it up to a higher power with a new spring though. ...

11/10. If you shoot into a very hard surface(like steel) the pellet turns into 1mm thick pancake. Great gun

I live in New Zealand and have had my Hatsan 60 since I was about 11. I have bought a Nikko Stirling Air King 4x32 scope for it and the first hunt I went out on with the scope, I cleanly dropped a rabbit with the shot at about 15 metres.
This gun is wicked!!! expecially for the price, ( I paid $240 New Zealand) and it is still going great.

I tested my new Hatsan 60 cr .22 to see how far into 2 by 4 and it went the same distance as my friends Air Arms TX200 HC. Good for hunting small game and vermin

Hatsan makes one hell of an air gun! it will punch through a 2x4 beleive it or not for under $200.cndn. so be careful...wicked for hunting small game. even the 495(fps)version kicks butt.

In May 2002, I got the Hatsan 60 cr .22 for $185.00 Canadian. It has 495 fps stamped on the receiver because of Canadian regulation, the gun smith told he could change the spring for $20.00 and it would bring it to 800 fps. It is a little hard to break but easy to cock. I put a 4 X 32 Crosman scope on it; it makes it easier to be accurate with. I can put all the shoot within a quarter at 33 feet, I am no expert. It has good power. So far I shot it over 2000 time with no problem at all
