I have had the NEC e616V since it came into service, and i wouldn't part with it for anything. Most of the internet is free too browse and you get the news and a 5 day weather forecast free. A retro mobile..but great fun. and updated 24/7

The NEC e616V is absolutely rubbish, it has a rubbish battery life and the shape is kind off rectangle with horrid buttons and a disgusting large screen. The only good point is the camera. I do not recommend this phone to anyone.

Overall, the NEC e6161V mobile phone is good, as I only paid £45 for mine from Argos. It has Bluetooth, infrared, 2 cameras, memory card slot and video. It's not missing many features. I would recommend this to anyone, but beware the battery lasts no longer than 24 hours, and it can be quite complicated to do the littlest of things.

The NEC e616V mobile phone is an absolutely rubbish phone, and the battery life is non-existent.

I wanted a phone that had some good features on it, but one that didn't break the bank. So I am very happy with the e616V from NEC.

Firstly, the points that people have issues with.

The battery, yes, is not brilliant, I have to charge it every day, or every other day. But the battery has been improved, and you get a heavy duty battery as a spare. Plus, as it is a feature-heavy phone, using these features will put a strain on the battery. People seem to forget this.
The 3 network is not br ...

The NEC e616v is a greatly featured phone with the added bonus of video calling. The handset also has useful features like handset accessible e-mail client and a media player, but the battery life is abysmal! Though this is due to the fact that good reception is hard to come by on the '3' network and the phone is constantly switching modes between '3g' and '2g'. Although at times the handset will seem to have a mind of its own, though this seems to be mostly down to inherent software problems wh ...

The software you get with the NEC e616V is a right pain in the neck to sort out. The bluetooth, Well! you're supposed to be able to transfer from one phone to another with bluetooth, But not with the E616v you can't.
Now, am I wrong or have 3 gone and stiffed us by not allowing the handset to do what all other bluetooth enabled handsets can do?? I'm not sure, but I'm not gonna sit back and take it as they [3] should be providing the software to make the phone do exactly what its capable of ...

I bought the NEC e616v on the off chance - I needed a new phone but didn't want a 3 pay phone because I heard bad things about the service - I wanted T-Mobile - I went to buy myself a new phone and saw the NEC e616v for £44.99 and thought that it was a real bargain. I really like it as a phone - the camera is really good and the additional parts of it like the calendar and notebook and reminders and things - I really like this phone - the battery charger is real good - you have a spare bat ...

I brought this phone as a upgrade to an old O2 phone what a mistake. The phone is very good, nice looking with good features and very easy to use. The battery life is poor with the slim battery and only slightly better with the large longlife battery, the software to transfer from PC is a royal pain and conflics with most USB ADSL modems. The main problem however is with 3 themselves, they are a joke, customer service haha forget it you get no joy whatsoever. DON'T USE 3 MOBILE YOU WILL COME TO ...

The NEC e616V has an mp3 player, java games, high quality camera with light, its a flip phone so the screen is protected, its big and durable, also has blue tooth and infa red and a large screen. There is also a smaller display on the other side of it which displays the date, time and reception with a blue backlight so you don't have to flip it up to see the time. The keypad is a bit annoying to use with a case on, but the keys light up funky green so I suppose it makes up for it.
    When you get ...

Many have written bad reports about the NEC e616V, ok! Let's get one thing straight before I start, it's not as bad as they make out! The phone itself is a 3G phone, if you don't want a phone which can make video calls, plays mp3s or makes videos, don't buy it, go for a smaller Nokia which suits you! It has fantastic picture quality, plays music videos and the games a good laugh when you're bored! It has many other weird and wonderful features that will keep you amused too.

    The negatives! Ba ...

I've had the NEC e616V handset since it was released and I like it.

I think I should start with what most people consider to be the most important points:

    1. Battery
It's not great, you will get 2 days out of the standard battery if you are lucky! In the box you get a standard battery(1100mAh, protrudes about 2mm from the back of the phone) which has an official standby time of 86 hours, and an extended battery (1800mAh, protrudes about 6mm from the back of the phone) and that has an offi ...
