    I've had an email account with excite.com since around 1992.
    It has become more frustrating in the last several years with slow or non working email services. There is absolutely the worst support or no support for problem resolution. Do not open an email account with the site. They use Blue Tie for their mail system and it is tough to get help from them also.

    Since it was "improved" excite has turned into a nightmare. Lockups, lost mail, delayed mail, no service. It sometimes takes days to receive emails from friends and family. I had excite for well over 10 years and had it is my primary email. Not anymore! Just another one of many Kmart failures.

    Needs negative ratings and now what is with the Sponsor thing where all these junk things pop up before you get to see your mail.
    Not going back and I presume they will lose all money from advertisements.
    Saw USA.NET go through this years ago and now it is Excite's turn.
    Death be not proud or in their case too embarrassing for words

    since excite changed their email. it's been so slow and awful. i need to change!!! I had this email account at least 10 - 12 years. I think more actually!

    Excite.com Email Service Gets an "F"
    I really liked excite.com and used it for many years until the email was "improved" and taken over by bluetie.com It is now a disaster. Only about 1 out of every 5 emails sent to me by friends ever make it through. When I open many emails, all you get is a blank screen. I did happily discover that I could read these emails if I forwarded them back to myself but then the links don't work. And should I have to do this? Of course not.

    Awful awful awful!!!!
    Excite Email is the worst mail server ever!!!! It only works occasionlly and freezes up constantly! I sometimes have to wait days to check my email until their crappy service works again!!!

    Having used Excite Email as my primary email account for more than ten years, I am furious that the "new format" has rendered the service so awful. At the very least, one should be able to access their account at any time, not just during the sporadic intervals that it is available. Like other reviewers, I have gotten a blank screen for the last two days when trying to log on. Not the first time. Unacceptable.     As others have posted I get a blank window with excite email for 2 days now when trying to login.

    Then try to find some help! Terrible, terrible service.

    Finally got this address from the web:

    Got auto acknowledgement that my email was received but so far no help.

    I had excite email over 6 yrs with the new upgrade it has been terrible. Just today have been able to open email for two days. That's the final straw I will use another email provider. I will not be held hostage my excite mail another day.

    I have had nothing but problems since the "new and improved" Excite Email format began. I regularly get a blank screen when I click the envelope icon that says "my email". It's always really slow. I honestly can't believe Excite would completely ruin their email and then not fix it. I now use Yahoo for 90% of my emails. I'm sure Excite lost thousands of other users as well.

    I've had excite email for years. With the new email, it never did work well and now it won't work at all! The new system is terrible and I can only get my email once a week at best, until this week, which is coming up with a gigantic zero. How to turn a great, simple, email service into a giant pain. Now I try to click on the emil tab and I get "Oh no! This page cannot be found." Wonderful.

    Like everone else here I would have to say the new Excite email is the worst. I just can't understand why someone at Excite would think it is better now. I have been with them for severl years but now I am having to go somewhere else because of the new "improvements"

    Excite Email is well designed, I just cannot believe why it does not work
    and it seems nobody cares. I try to be one of the most loyal.

    I have had excite.com for at least 11 years. I used to find it great and easy to use. Ever since the so-called upgrade, it has been horrible. Presently, for over 36 hours I have not been able to even log on to view my E-mail to see the spam that I always get now or any other E-mail. It is slow to load or do anything when I AM able to access the E-mail. I switched to a different E-mail account as my main account because of all of the problems I have encountered with excite.com since summer 2 ...

    Excite email has been completely UNAVAILABLE for the past day, and available very sporadically the day or two before that. I could live with its "updated" SLOW performance, but now its time to make the painful migration to another provider.

    Goodbye Excite!

    I don't know what is happening with this website. Can't log in and can't get email. Excite you screwed up. I have had my email address since 1995 and it says at times it does not know me. Get a grip. It if works leave it alone. If it doesn't fix it.
    I cannot even sign in as user...........what's up excite.

    I can't load & view my emails most of the time since the Excite Email upgrade. Have been with excite for about 9 years but leaving now. What is the point of having email you can not see?

    As others have written, why fool with something when it was working? Excite Email was basic & simple but what's wrong with that? I don't think this new email system! Bring the other simpler one back!!!!!!!!!
