Problems with the Tiscali /TalkTalk email have gone on for days. The virtual customer service assistant apologises for being a bit new to the job: surely if you were creating a fantasy assistant you would make up a character who had previous experience. Are TalkTalk deliberately trying to get rid of Tiscali email accounts? (read more)

“Tiscali great - talk talk - really really not.”

Since the takeover by Talk Talk, can not get into my emails. The blank screen and buggerall else. Now Talk Talk have posted an "all fixed" declaration. Well it is not, it is still dreadful and blanking 100%, 24/7. Bandwidth has also gone down by 50% overnight (2 weeks now). Do I want fibre for £10 more a month - no, hell no, HELL NO!! This company and many others use these tactics and Ofcom are not on the ball. Waiting a year and then they may mention it and give them a year to sort it.... (read more)

I would give Talk Talk a NO star rating.......it is certainly gone beyond terrible. I have been with Tiscali for many, many years. Now I find it is impossible to even access my account ......I get bounced out .......there is always, always something to stop me. As for the re-vamped site/format that too is utter rubbish. “Abysmal Service Throughout”

Have been a Tiscali user for many years, but will be leaving soon because their service continues to get worse. It is absolutely abysmal, the emails keep dropping out--it advises the emails are corrupt--when you send an email to another folder or section, it takes other similarly named emails with it, or it deletes them for good. Their telephone service is also very bad, and I often feel I would get better service from the chimpanzees at the zoo! You would think they would learn a lesson... (read more)

I have similar problems. Don't know why I haven't changed yet. I was given the mail2web address by a Tiscali technician last year who said it was the only thing working! Mail2web comes up in 3 seconds. I've been able to access Tiscali directly once in the past week. Then, it works fine, apart from dropping my regular emails (from people on my contact list) into Trash and putting emails I've marked as spam into my inbox. Even emails from Tiscali go into trash. When I finally change, I shall contact the guy at the top of TalkTalk and ask him if he's aware of the chaos below him. The Tiscali staff are always helpful and polite, but they seem to be unable to change anything. Dreadful service. I even had a call before Christmas offering me compensation - no amount mentioned. Two weeks later, I spoke to another technical advisor and mentioned this and was told that they didn't do that and that no-one would have offered me anything. A total shambles.

“Talk Talk more like No Conection No Connection”

I have been a Tiscali, and latterly Talk Talk, customer for many years. Tiscali provided a very good service with few connection problems. Since Talk Talk took over the service has been abysmal. So many times I am not able to log in to the email server and when I can, I regularly receive an error messge that the email is corrupt. It isn't! The problem lies solely with Talk Talk. Hi I also am a Tiscali customer and for two months I have not been able to log into my emails - I solved the problem myself today because phoning talk talk is a joke.
I downloaded google crome and then typed in Tiscali log in and clicked on the link and then typed in my email and YES I can now read all my emails I had over 400. Hope this works for you.

They are really awful and I think they probably know it. Spam filtering doesn't exist. Email often down or when it is working you can get kicked off in the middle of writing an email. They are so bad its almost funny. Almost. ps when submitting your review you can't give no stars as a rating which is a shame. (read more)

I am not a customer but I get (in the US) at least five emails a day from the same name telling me to activate a different account each time. From what I've read I should report it to the powers that be because then they know they have a live address and they aren't very savory characters. I've never had this happen to me in over twenty-five years of emailing. (read more)

“Randomly throws you out and terrible spam”

Tiscali randomly throws you out while you are in the middle of reading / composing emails. There have recently been horrendous amounts of spam and despite marking them as "spam" they continue. Obviously the spam filter doesn't work. Friends emails have however been directed into the deleted folder and there doesn't appear to be any way to prevent this - the "help desk" responses to my complaint have given answers to completely different questions. Like many others am leaving tiscali. Once again can't open mail, states error and message may have been corrupted. This happens too often,have reported it before but no improvement. Dispite using tisacli for many years suddenly cannot get my e-mails.The message username and password incorrect this dispite being right.Following a telephone call to talktalk 1hr 20mins later told tiscali is now not an option since talktalk have taken over but to use a new logon/password for talktalk. with much discussion!!!this i did. not happy is an understatement particually as I now find that others are able to use the tiscali and continue to do so.AND to add insult to injury talktalk... Having been subjected to near non existent Web access since Talk Talk took over Tiscali, I surprise myself that I have stayed for so long. Spent 2 hours trying to gain access to e-mails through website (necessary when away from home computer). Firstly I checked my password & username through their phone system. When I tried to log in with these details it didn't work and it took a 3/4 hour phonecall(?to India) to sort it out (nb old Tiscali customer). “Trying to leave tiscali due to email problem”

I have had a tiscali account for a number of years but service has deteriorated badly since talktalk took over. We negotiated a lower monthly rate as we only use this internet provider for email and have a satellite connection with tooway for downloading and tv etc. However I just checked my bills and the cost has doubled without an email to inform us. Have had a Tiscali account for years, but now the company is part of TalkTalk. Since the take over I have had nothing but problems with my mail. Sometimes problems logging on, sometimes mail is supposedly corrupted, no easy way to delete bulk mail so your inbox fills up, sometimes the inbox freezes or tells me that I have no mail at all and my messages disappear!! Have held a tiscal mail account for years, and never had a problem until TalkTalk took over. Messages are corrupting, email is hit and miss whether it will login at all! I've also noticed that it's affecting sites I need to login to with this email address (i.e fourms). Don't use!!! (read more)

What is going on with Talk Talks email system? Been a customer for 10+ years and its getting worse. Since the cosmetic improvements I've not been able to guarantee that opening attachments (from reputable companies) will not provide the dreaded "Corrupt file "message! A month or so ago I heard the MD of Talk Talk, say on Radio 4, that all the probs were sorted out and as a consequence, less complaints, which meant they didn't need so many staff answering phones! I have had Tiscali email for at least 10 years but like everybody else here since TalkTalk took over it has become near to unusable. Logging in sometimes works, then it hangs up 'cant access the server' and similar, then it claims it cant open some emails because they are 'corrupt' even though I can open them in other systems. Bizarrely, spam filtering seems 100%. Given I have never paid for it though I can't complain in a sense but having said that there are better free systems e.g. Gmail... (read more)

I am experiencing the same problems with Talk Talk. I was with Tinyworld, then Tiscali and now Talk Talk. Like above, I have a free account, but I have had the same e-mail address for so long I am reluctant to change. This morning I have been trying for ten minutes to open an important e-mail without success.

Why can't Talk Talk address this problem. It must be an embarrassment to them.

Being abroad and relying on webmail is esential, however Talk(or not)Talk continually fails and over the months of April/ May 2012 this continues without them sorting the problem. When I return to the UK I will look for another provider as there is no sense in paying them my GOOD money for their BAD service. Trying to contact them is a nightmare, well planned on their part?? For the last couple of weeks trying to read, send or delete emails has been a total nightmare. When I do eventually access them after several attempts it takes ages to reply to them. Even deleting them is a struggle. I won't attempt to call the helpdesk because it takes ages to get through, and, even if you can understand what they are saying I know from previous experience that they don't give you the right answer. I imagined that having broadband and email and paying for the privelege would mean that when I turned my computer on, firstly I would be able to login and secondly, having waited whilst the page loads up, I would then be able to email people and to receive emails. Yesterday, for five hours, the system was down, today, for 2½ hours, the system was down. I was a victim of NTL's gross inadequacy. (do you remenber them, they were since taken over by Virgin). so when I changed to tiscali it was marvellous. There were very few hitches and everything seemed to run smoothly. Since the takeover by talktalk they have tried to improve the e-mail service with more memory but more often than not I can not access the service. Yesterday I was without the internet all morning, today I can not use e-mail. I still hold faith that talktalk will sort this... (read more)

Agree with all the previous reviewers I thought Tiscali was acceptable - for the money. TalkTalk however is so very bad that I'm thinking of just going over to a new provider even though I'm locked into a contract until January - it just aint worth it. The process for selecting multiple email address to send one email is worse than USELESS. I agree. An appalling service. I can't access my emails yet again - hence this (I was wondering if I was alone in this!!). The talk talk web site doesn't even enable for complaints to be made. Instead after finally sifting through and filling out 'a message' it doesn't forward it on.

I have to say that the e-mail access is better since the the transfer from Tiscali to Talk Talk and I do not get any spam stuff like before. However their overall service is diabolical especially if you have a problem and need to talk to them. No ownership taken and different advice given. They gave a me a "free" router but debited my account with £25 on the same day. When I complained they said that a credit would appear but only on the 1st of the following month. Talk Talk service. If you're thinking of signing up, think again. I was unable to receive e-mails on my Lineone account for 6 weeks till I FINALLY spoke to someone who understood what I was on about. Since the take over off Tiscali by TalkTalk, the email system (which is my only real concern)has been diabolical. I understand the the need (or perhaps the desire) to rebrand, which they did early on with the website, but the transfer to the talktalk email suffix seems to be proving more horrendous than they could have envisaged. What a nightmare. Since we converted to the new upgraded system, we like others have experience difficulties in accessing my email and when we do we cant get the emails to open. The system is slow, unstabble and a complete waste of money. We have been a Tiscali customer for years. Contract or no contract we will be moving unless they up their game. (read more)
