    Good Points: Very compact - useful for my little cottage. Nice design but what use is that - it's a VACUUM cleaner! (at least that's what it said on the tin) HATE IT HATE IT HATE IT


    Bad Points: No suction whatsoever.


    General comments: How I wished I found this site before I bought the Hoover DM4490 Hepa! Totally useless - can't even suck up a cobweb! I'm not exaggerating.

    The Hoover DM4490 vacuum cleaner is the worst appliance I have ever purchased in 50 years of married life. Mine is a little over 15 months old, and it has already had one new motor, but it still cuts out after 15 minutes usage. Parts drop off it on a weekly basis. The dust container has to be washed and dried each time it is used.

    A complete waste of time and money.

    The Hoover DM4490 Hepa is impossible to clean and empty without becoming covered in dust and dirt. The bottom of the dust container is VERY difficult to open, and in the process you get totally filthy. The filters all need washing, and this is also a very dirty process. Then you have to dry them... Fortunately I have an Aga that I can leave the filters on, as it takes at least 24 hours to dry them. It's also very heavy to lug around.

    Who designed this cleaner?

    Bring back the disposable ba ...

    The Hoover DM4490 Hepa is a complete waste of money. I wouldn't buy another vacuum cleaner made by Hoover. The aftercare sales just harp on about the receipt!

    We have had two of these now, and both have ended up with the same problem! Deafening noise!

    I have made the following observations since purchasing the Hoover DM4490 Hepa: The small dust container does not seal properly, and the dust finds its way in to the motor, although still under guarantee, I had to pull it apart to find what was making the noise, it was full of rubbish. This now sits in the garage waiting for ther tip after only 6 weeks
