My baby likes this but not for too long as I think it is a bit too busy and he can get frustrated but in general, a nice product and will probably come in to its own as baby gets older

It is well mad as is always with 'Fischer Price toys' Even the screws are captive and the nuts are embeded in the case. A lot of fine detail and thought has gone into the production. My wife picked it up in a store for $20 used. It is a fascinating toy for a child. My granddaugher just turn one year tomorrow loves it. I saw other critics who downplayed it, remember it is made for a child's amusement, not for the adult. My granddaughter loves it. I need to buy another but I do not know where to look.

Our baby loved this.! The bright lights and funky music kept her entertained for hours while she laid on her back kicking and kicking. She soon learned that when the music stopped, she kicked the toy again so it would start!
I would recommend the Fisher Price Kick and Whirl Carnival to anyone.

I bought this Fisher Price Kick and Whirl Carnival because my 3 month old son finds other gyms boring. I thought this might entertain him because the lights and sound on setting II are supposed to be activated by the baby kicking the foot pad or knocking the toys. This is not the case. He gets very frustrated when he is kicking hard and nothing happens. I can not even get it to activate if I hit it very hard. I don't think the toy is sensitive enough. I think the toy is very robust (it has to be). It spends most of its time on setting 1 where the music and sounds play continuously for five minutes.

Fisher Price - Kick and Whirl Carnival - The box leads one to believe the baby will be rewarded by bright lights and music for kicking the toy. This is not the case. The music and lights play continuously regardless of what the baby is doing. Other, similar toys, are much better at presenting the action in response to the kick, therefore teaching the baby cause and effect.
