Good Points: Brilliant characters set within scenarios that are genuine enough for the series to pass for a 'documentary' (held together by the contribution of Andrew Sachs). Some truly great one-liners in a script loaded with Northern wit.
Bad Points: Although the dialogue remains top-notch, some characters are weaker than others.
General comments: That Peter Kay Thing - Perhaps the most enjoyable aspect of this series is that rather than pinning together a collection of funny phrases/one-liners (for which Peter Kay has an undoubted talent), it is great to see him develop his characters. You get a genuine feel for each character's personality, the frustration of Mr Softy Top, the genuine innocence of Leonard, etc.... Even if you're turned off by the characters then you won't be disappointed by the dialogue - 'Senor Whoppee! I'll 'ave him', Classic.
