    Good Points: Best fare on AA to Europe at the time. Good connections to freeways. Airport personnel helpful.


    Bad Points: Everything seemed fouled up due to construction. Confusing or non-existent signage. Off airport car rental far away (Great service from Thrifty when we got there, but to get there you have to know that there is an unmarked phone at one of the airport information counters where you can call for a pick up, but the pick-up location is not marked anywhere). Rental return went very well, but don't throw away the Thrifty map they give you when you rent the car our you may have trouble finding it.


    General comments: This airport is confusing. The construction, at least for the American Airways facilities, makes for a major mess (no jetways, buses to plane from terminal, etc.). The AA Admiral's club is outside security. I can read German, but the signage was very confusing or maybe absent.

    Anyone expecting German efficiency at this airport is going to be sorely disappointed. What they will get in my opinion is the most inefficient airport management in Europe. On 7 April, arriving on LH from Moscow and transferring to Paris CDG, I was sent around full circle by the atrociously confusing signposting at FRA, trying to make my way to the connecting flight at terminal 1.     We arrived at the airport on a visit weekend visit to Frankfurt. On arrival Signage was particularly poor and confusing. At passport control, a very large queue developed very quickly. There were 8 booths of which four were manned. One booth for European passport holders, which was 90% of the queue, and three booths for non European passport holders. No effort was made to redress the balance and the European queue took 40 minutes to process. After passing into the baggage hall, the flight baggag ...
