The "designers" are woeful at best. The work done to people's homes is so half-baked: painting ON TOP of old crappy wallpaper, putting up garish wallpaper (badly - there are always bubbles visible even on camera??), overloading cramped rooms with tacky accessories and just generally doing a big, massive design vomit behind each door. The walls will be peeling as soon as the crew leave, and then the homeowner will be forced to fix up the poor workmanship with money they probably don't have... (read more)

When this programme relied on just a Voiceover or the designers explaining their choices direct to camera, I was really surprised at how the pace of the show was dragged down. I really don't understand why so many people here have the knives out for Catherine Gee. Her size aside (it isn't really relevant), I find her polite, warm and honest. I don't remember the recipients of the makeovers being courteously escorted from their vehicles by the presenter in previous incarnations, and it's nice... (read more)

I love the programme but am distracted throughout by mentally criticising Catherine Gee's attire. Ok, she's too slim (maybe anorexic, poor girl) but does she have to wear white tops under other tops on nearly every show. Would love to see her in full skirts or feminine dresses - not the skinny jeans and layered tops she wears to death - better still, would love NOT to see her at all. I agree with other reviewers - she lacks what it takes for this kind of show. Bring back the designers -... (read more)

I AGREE, GOT NOTHING AGAINST HER BUT SHE IS DREADFUL IN THIS SHOW. SHE IS ALWAYS GETTING IN THE WAY, SAYING MIND DUMBING STUFF, AND NEVER LIFTS A FINGER. ALTHOUGH HAVING SAID THAT, HAVE SEEN HER DOING A FEW SECONDS WORK TO CAMERA THEN PASSING BRUSH BACK TO SOMEONE ELSE! THE PROGRAMME SHOULD BE RUN BY THE DESIGNERS OR, SOMEONE WHO KNOWS WHAT THEY AR TALKING ABOUT, ITS BECOME BANAL!

The basis of the programme is sound but why can't the reearchers find more deserving recipients of this free makeover? I would like to see people who really can't do any work on their house because they are in physically unable rather than families who can't be bothered. I love 60 minute makeover and have always watched it but I preferred previous presenters to Catherine Gee who is definately anorexic but not even that I dont find her very compassionate when familys talk of their problems and things they have been through, she does not have any empathy, is condescending and patronising, also she seems to have issue with any colour, scheme, design or item that a designer shows, always making negative comments rather than positive, I would hate to see her house (read more)

What's going on with this program? The presenter is painful to watch and to listen to. (I'm by no means the first to mention this. Sorry) Every house looks as though some families would be delighted to own the "befores," and most of the makeovers look as if another designer was let loose, they'd have plenty to say and change about the "afters" Today's show, 30th April, was pretty horrific. Horrible mix of colours, thrown together. Why do the designers insist on using colours or designs... (read more)

Are the guys that are suppose to be 'Designers' drop outs from design school?...or perhaps did they get their diplomas online? The colour schemes are shocking and the over use of wallpaper and 'glam' are NOT modern! The carpets are ALWAYS laid without underlay making them as wrinkled as the hanging of the wallpaper! Shoddy, Shoddy, Shoddy workmanship and design! Glad they are not here in Australia! The only way to watch this show is from afar with a cringe up the spine! I really do feel sorry for the individuals that have these guys come into their homes!

I'M fascinated by especially Ms Gee's body shape. At first I cldnt believe my eyes but then realised that what I saw was right ... She's horrrriby thin! She tries to cover it upby wreaking light coloured clothes and layers of it but once she wore a pair of black pants and her legs seemed as big as my arms! I apologise to her if all this upsets her. I know interior design tastes can be very subjective but whenever I see the designer for the show of the day to be Linda Barker, my spine shudders! I agree, my daughter gets in from school just towards the end (she's 13) and the last thing she needs to see is that scrawny, anorexic, disgusting, condescending woman. Her body makes me feel sick and I don't think she should be allowed on the television where young girls are so influenced by size. Get her a good meal and take her off the tv until she is a normal size and learns how to present properly. Bring back either of the two girls off Brookside or Hollyoaks they looked normal.

I love, love, love 60 Minute Makeover but the recent addition of Catherine Gee is spoiling it a bit for me. She's not suited to this show personality wise, but far worse is her appalling appearance.
She has a serious problem and I can't believe the producers are not seeing this. She is obviously way too underweight and may have a serious eating disorder. She looks like a starved, hunched, beaky bird. Something is definitely wrong here.

I have renovated many homes and recently built one. My father owned his own construction business. The work on this show is appalling! The wallpapering, sub-sub standard. The painting shocking. The tiling makeovers always a mess...this is a make over to disaster and costs to the owners to fix up the botchy jobs. Cannot believe that they actually produce this show! Not sure how they can legally get away with it when some of the owners of the homes are not actually aware of the mess these guys are making of their homes!
