On Saturday 6th December I rang Opodo to book my flights due to the website crashing/freezing as I was trying to book them online. I wanted two premium Economy tickets from London Heathrow to Cape Town, they booked me two Economy flights! Given that this error was not my fault we asked to speak to a manager. I have my wife and two sons coming from brazil from Rec to Abz, Aberdeen, I had asked them if I could extend it to the june one month extra. Bear in mind I just spent nearly £3000 pounds on this, it was all my savings. “Charges Much Too High ”

Recently attempted to book return flights (economy during a low period) Toulouse/London (BA/EasyJet). Final bill including a very high charge for hold baggage and to use a credit charge was excessive. Fortunately just before confirming my purchase I had a look at Expedia. Their cost was much lower and I discovered from Expedia that BA do not charge for hold baggage and EasyJet charge only £14.95. My recommendation is to avoid Opodo unless you wish to waste money… Read Full Review

I had to cancel a flight to the US due to illness. I lost the value of the flight but was told I would be refunded the tax, over £140. That was last February. I can find no record of receiving the money, first they said I had somehow slipped through the net, then they promised it would be paid into my account straight away. My mother booked a return flight from london Luton to Dublin, from 2/10/14 till 6/10/14. She tried to print her boarding pass 48 hours before the due date and had no success. Two family members tried independently from their computers and had no success. My mother tried to contact OPODO but has had no response. On 13/10/2014, I used OPODO to book 3 flights to Bologna via Ryanair. OPODO confirmed the transaction cost, by email as £133.17 for fights and £60 for baggage. Immediately after the email from OPODO I received a further email direct from Ryanair. This said that the cost was £89.97 for flight and £45 for baggage. Because Turkish Airlines re-scheduled and thereby made it impossible for me to get the connecting flight from Istanbul to Mombasa, I chose to cancel the whole booking as per REGULATION (EC) No 261/2004. I contacted Opodo after sales by telephone and following a short discussion was told that I MUST book a new flight before I could be given a full refund which should take a few days after I inform them that I had made a new booking. Family holiday - booked flights paid for the hold baggage. Turn up at airport and told I cannot check in baggage. It turned out that opodo had taken my money (£87) for the baggage but had not booked baggage with the airline. So after much hassle - I have to pay again. Try to contact opodo - no joy as yet. Of course I won't use them again. I also made the mistake of booking car hire through them too. But thats another story. Sadly I had exactly the same experience. DO NOT USE OPODO.I have documentary evidence that I had prebooked and paid for hold baggage but had to pay again at the airport. One of their representatives promised I would be refunded but surprise surprise this has not happened. I have gone through the email complaints process but they are just ignoring me. In my opinion their actions are little short of being criminal.

RETURN FLIGHT DID NOT EXIST Bought flights to Milan to enjoy my sons wedding in May 2014 flight out ok no problems Problem occurred on the return, arrived at airport only to find retun flight that we had purchased did not exist Unable to contact opodo we had to purchase new tickets fly to a different airport hire a car and drive 2 hours home. This has just happened to me as well. I booked 8 return flights to Budapest last November. I found out when putting all the passport details last week that my return flight home had been cancelled due to an issue with my card. which they happily took the out bound flight money from. why they only took one way is beyond me. when I phoned them and got through the English lady was very rude and couldn't give me a straight answer to why! she gave me another number to ring which I did. the lad from Asia I think was very helpful but was unable t help or again give me a straight answer only that out in bound flight had been cancelled.
so when I looked at getting the 8 lads home I found that each flight had gone up £140 each leading to £1400 just of 8 single tickets. seems after reading all the reviews this is very common! had to book the tickets to the get the lads home!

thankfully there are 30 of us going on this trip and we booked the others with the airline and the lads are happy to spread the cost.

tried to cancel a return flight, because outbound flight was cancelled by airline, -customer service rep I spoke to was very hard to understand -they wanted to have a cancellation fee of 25 pounds upfront -I was told I was only eligible for 15 pounds tax refund, you do the math....
