    I have to say I really love the whole idea of this show; with people attempting some very unusual concepts. My particular favourites are the episodes where they do a massive project on a run down building or just attempt something completely different like houses in the forest made from wood.I have to say though I do have one minor gripe; and that's the people. More often than not they have copious amounts of money to throw at these projects which many of the viewing population do not have at their disposal. I'd like it if the programme could do a few more features on people who are on more of a budget... I love the show but can't help feeling resentful watching it sometimes!

    Grand Designs is brilliant to watch as people strive to build their dream homes - real ambitious architectural projects ranging from conversions of old buildings to new builds, to ecological houses to flat pack houses. The program follows them from the drawing board through the build and charts the pitfalls and successes and discusses the architectural innovations they use and why these are special projects. One man built his own log cabin in the woods. Another converted a giant mansion in Franc ...
