“Horrible customer service”

Incorrectly booked a friend's airline ticket using her maiden name but her passport shows her married name but she just got recently got divorced. Called both Expedia and the airline customer service. Airline customer said it is no problem but change has to come from Expedia because they ticketed the booking. “Slow to Refund”

I booked a return flight but called to cancel the return before it took place. I was sure I was entitled to at the very least a tax refund. They said I would get approx £360 (for the 4 of us) within 2-12 weeks. Why, it takes so long, to provide a refund, is beyond me. After 14 weeks with no refund I followed up to ask why and they said within 5-6 days. “poor customer service”

There was an error in my the travel dates. I confirmed by calling the hotel in advance of my trip and they did not catch the error (see expedia). I cannot get a refund because the hotel and expedia both claim that the other party is to blame. I am extremely disappointed in my experience with Expedia and its customer service. After calling no less than 5 times and being hung up on/disconnected each time after relaying my issue, it seems that the hang up treatment is an intentional ploy to not deal with the issue. Based on my recent experiences with Expedia, NO ONE should use them to book travel ever! I was astonished to find out that Expedia charged me more than $70 over a three day stay than the actual hotel did! It was no more convenient than booking through the hotel. I could have saved myself the extra money and the insult from the more than lackluster response from their "support" staff regarding my query. Used Trivago to get a hotel in NYC. Linked me through Expedia. Error in dates cost me over 20 hours on the phone with the Expedia Customer Service desk in India and $250. Error in dates caused by system glitch. Complete runaround. Promises made to cancel rooms and fees, never happened.
