Yes you can find great deals, but good luck actually booking any. EVERY TIME I went to book a trip it would say "oops while you were shopping the price changed from $4000 to $14000"...I feel like that is an extreme OOPS. All in all if a company wants to use advertising gimmicks and support false advertising, they are not someone I want to support. Bad business run by bad people. (read more)

Used to book hotel for weekend in Nashville. Booked room many weeks ahead of travel and paid $370 per night for what was supposed to be very nice hotel in downtown area. I was VERY disappointed and tried to argue my point because their advertising was dishonest and misleading. I was in Montreal on business. I have seen this company screw over and rip off more people then any other booking service. I am a hotel manager and 8 out of 10 reservations they send to my hotel are booked wrong. Never the rooms promised to the guests. When a guest would call them to complain about issues due to expedia, all expedia would want to do is cancel the reservation. Expedia have a "get up to 40% off" deal on their website for hotels. You book a certain star level and after you book, the hotel name is revealed. Well when I did this, I booked a 2 and a half star hotel, which turned out to be a motel, which is rated by all other websites as one star. Aside from this, for two dollars more, I could have booked this motel myself on their own website and then had the option of canceling it, or actually paying much less if I took advantage of their own deals... I will never again book anything with Expedia. I had a weekend trip booked to Burlington Vermont, and there was a huge snowstorm in the Northeast, so the airline cancelled my flight. However, when I called the hotel to cancel my reservation, they were not able to do so, since my reservation was with Expedia. When I attempted to cancel my hotel and car reservations with Expedia, they simply kept me on hold for over two hours and never answered the call. They have no incentive to maintain decent customer service. Whatever you do, never book a hotel through Expedia.

I booked a cruise to JAMACIA on the phone.. except it wasn't to Jamacia it was to Mexico which I said I DID NOT want to go there! When I received the email confirmations, I freaked and called and even though I was in the 60 day range to get my money back they said they could NOT refund me for one bs reason or another. I have used Expedia in the past as they offered a cheaper flight then the actual airlines I was booking to NZ. However on this occassion they failed miserably on giving me the customer service and flights I wanted. The different memebers of staff I spoke to were saying contradictory things and lef tme not knowing where to turn. Hear, hear. Just tried to book through expedia.com.au and website would not complete last stage of confirmation. Left site (assuming no booking) and booked through booking.com - no problems. Then discovered expedia email confirming my booking! Promptly cancelled. Booking was for hotel in UK and paying higher price for pay later, free cancellation. Next day discovered expedia in Sydney had charged my credit card with the full amount! Spent an hour on phone and they tried to tell me it was a prepaid deal!! Not so. Same deal, same price still there with no money. Now waiting to get reversal to my card. Never again.
