They are The worst customer service ever they don't explain anything and put you on hold when I don't want to hear what you have to say. Booked a hotel room for December 2017 for 2 nights. Was very excited got confirmation, credit card charged, then 1/2 later get a cancellation notice from expedia telling me the hotel cancelled and it was probably due to my credit card. I knew that was wrong as I saw the pending charge on cc. Went directly to hotel website and put the dated I wanted in and they required a 3 night stay. I was going to purchase tickets thru expedia when it showed a lower price than American Airlines, however midway through the purchase, it raised prices on me to more than American Airlines and asked me to confirm and finish paying. I did not confirm and I did not finish my purchase, however Expedia kept my credit card info (even after I deleted it) and charged my account anyway. When you're supposed to be on Norwegian cruise line through South America, but instead you're back home in Canada with your children all because Norwegian cares to educate the cruise ship centres about not bringing a Samsung 7 aboard instead of educating their sales centres about proper documentation required to sail through South America. I had a $1,140.00 credit I had to use within a year. For the last month.. 10 calls and 14 people, each call lasting over an hour.. the last one over 2 hours! They say you have a year to use it (credit) after 30 days it goes off the books and then they have to create a FAKE flight to get the credit BACK under your name, then they have to figure out HOW to apply it to the trip you actually want. I won't tell the full story of how I was on the phone; on hold, explaining, and then explaining again how I was wronged, only to be put back on hold for another (up to) 45-50 minutes! They still haven't solved my problem over two weeks and I've been wrongfully charged $741 for a hotel that had free cancellation and no pre booking fee!! I booked a cruise with Expedia, Balt to Balt on Royal Carribean. My friend was married 2x and divorced, so her birth certificate doesn't match her driver's license, and she doesn't have a passport. One agent told her that she would be fine with just her license and birth certificate. However, 3 weeks before the cruise, she was told that she needed a passport. Our party of 6 experienced the Ft Lauderdale shooting evacuation. We did not have anything, except I had my purse and the 4 men in the group had their wallets. “Worst vacation imaginable!”

I booked a trip to the Wyndam Fortuna hotel on Grand Bahama for 5days. What a HUGE mistake! My flight arrived at 11:00 am and the courtesy transportation to the hotel was no where to be found. Got a cab ride $25US no big deal. We get to the hotel and are informed we can't check in til 3:00pm. This type of complaint drives me crazy....Blaming Expedia for what he didn't like about the hotel. Expedia does not own or operate the hotel. Face it....traveling abroad is a lot different than taking a trip to Memphis TN. You use Expedia to BOOK a trip for a discount. If that is what you got then zip it.

“Price changes during booking, refunds difficult to arrange”

I saw flights I wanted at a good price of about £620 per ticket. I went through the Expedia booking process, checking all my details were correct before submitting. When I got to the confirmation page, I had been charged £1340 or £670 per ticket. I had no warning that the price had changed during my booking, and promptly phoned Expedia. “Car search engine for different drop off is not...”
