    Bad Points: Customer Care Reps with NO Expertise

    General comments: I booked a flight for this July to Norway on SAS. I was unable to choose my seats through Expedia, so after the flight was confirmed I went to the SAS sight to revise my seats. SAS requires a six-digit reservation PNR number to both revise seats and confirm the flight 72 hours in advance. So I sent a message to Expedia's Customer Service to ask for the number. The first representative simply told me to read my itinerary. The second response gave me another invalid number, and told me to read my itinerary. The third told me yes! my flight is reserved, and to read my itinerary (he did say the top left corner -- so I appreciate that he was smart enough to add his own note). In total SIX representatives told me to read my itinerary. Not one of them looked into the issue further. Thankfully, I talked an SAS rep into helping me figure things out -- because I knew if I called Expedia I would just freak out on the rep for telling me to read my itinerary. They're not the airlines. They didn't know what they were doing and they had no expertise in resolving my issue. They just provide a happy form response to read your itinerary and please, confirm your flight 72 hours in advance (BUT WITH WHAT NUMBER????). Ugh. Expedia -- Never Again.

    Nothing is good with Expedia. I booked twice with Expedia and had a horrible experience. They booked hotels for a different date and I had to go a whole night without sleep. I had to pay out of my pocket for the hotel. Bad customer service representatives and bad supervisors. They are not ready to help. If you want to have a good holiday, please do not use Expedia for booking your reservations

    If you have to change a flight expect to spend at least an hour of your time on the phone. This happened twice. My third miserable experience with them (1 hour 12 min.) went like this. I called Airtran to get seats assigned. They said I had no reservations for the changed flight. When I went to the Airtran website it showed that my trip was completed and past. However on the Expedia site, my reservation was showing confirmed with the new travel date for the same record locator. I called Exped ...

    We tried to change the flight and according to information, you have to find a flight and call them. When you call it will take at least 20 to 30 minutes for them to answer (If you are lucky, call may get disconnected after waiting for 20 minutes). When they answer the price is no longer valid for them. They increase the price of the same ticket and force you to get that adding change charge and processing fee. Other sites have better pricing without booking fees. Use them.

    My fiance and I scheduled our honeymoon through expedia.com. honeymoons are supposed to be special right? We have bought and purchased a direct flight to Mexico at 9am. Now, somehow we are leaving the airport at 6am, the day after my wedding (ladies you understand) and we have to take a connecting flight where we only have 40 minutes to get on. I just hope our honeymoon is ruined because of this. The least expedia can do is bump us to first class because of this. It is my honeymoon.

    I would like to say they gave us a good rate on an all inclusive to Mexico. However, you do not know what you are buying until after they have taken you money, which is when they change your flight schedule to includes a connecting flight that you did not know you were purchasing, and you now spend 13 hours travelling on day one of your trip instead of the expected 4 hours. Just pray you don't miss your check in time window at your hotel, because they WILL give your room away and make you wait ...

    We had a flight change, due to the airline, but Expedia accepted the flight change without our knowledge. The were unhelpful and clueless about trying to change the flights to ones closer to our original requirements. We had to call at least 8 times to sort this out and had to actually contact the airline ourselves to sort the mess out.

    I bought two tickets for Orlando in January. Expedia immediately charged my card for over $1200. Easter weekend I got an email saying United had "changed my itinerary". The change, as I listened to an automated itinerary, was, we were now booked at 8.30am out of Orlando to fly to Denver; and at the same moment, we were booked to fly 8.30am out of Denver to Vancouver!     Everything was as promised, not problems at all. Excellent price, and every detail was taken care of. There's always bad things that happen with travel sites, but as long as you confirm in advance, there shouldn't be any problems.

    We booked with Expedia two months in advance. When we went to the airline they could not find ticket numbers and ended up giving our seats. We had to return home. No good points. Bad pouints, sold us tickets and did not give us our seats on the airline.

    We arrived for our hotel reservation at 12:30am. The front desk was closed for the night. Eventually we found a security guard that found us a clerk to help us check in. But there was no room for us (even though we had pre-paid). The resort had no record of a booking through Expedia.ca.     I've used Expedia for years both nationally and internationally. I've never had too much of a problem (not seated together was frequent though). Then I had a problem and called them from an airport. My trip was all screwed up and the rep had the nastiest attitude. I had been shuttle all over between airports, missed a day of vacation due to delays and this woman was not nice.     I booked 2 overseas flights with Expedia. Everything was supposedly booked until I received an email notification that I needed to contact Expedia immediately to re-book a flight the airline had cancelled.     I purchased a ticket for myself and my infant child for whom I paid full price. I asked to be seated together. I received my email confirmation today and it shows that my baby and I are seated separate.     I booked my hotel/flight over the phone. When I received the email confirmation they had booked the wrong flight. I spent several hours trying to correct the error they made, either speaking to several different people, waiting on hold, or for a return phone call.
