Good Points: Good range of products on sale and some good offers

Bad Points: When you take an offer that includes free blu-ray disks (for example) this is a SONY offer and Sony Centre are not Sony, they're a franchise.

When the disks don't arrive and you try to get help to sort out the problem you get fobbed off with "nothing to do with us - you'll have to contact Sony yourself - we're just a franchise"

General comments: My personal experience was with Sony Centre Oxford - woeful after sales support - fobbed off left right and centre. Promises of help, promises that things were being sorted out - then and many telephone call later " nothing! I can't vouch for other Sony Centres but I will never darken the doors of Oxford's Sony Centre and I'd advise the same to anyone thinking of buying there. Try Richer Sounds or Dixons.

Richer Sounds pride themselves in good pre and after sales service, I ' ve purchased there on several occasions and been very satisfied, I only wish I ' d gone back on this occasion.

When I finally got served, i was told that the item I wanted was "in the shop downstairs". I didn't realise that the shop had two levels as I entered the arcade on the first floor - there was nothing in the shop to suggest there was another part of the store (not even a staircase - you have to go out, down the escalator and then ...

Every now and again I loose myself in a long gaze, full of desire and wanting behavior at the Manchester Sony Centre. I'd love to go in one day and just spend like 2000 or 3000 pound on a good home cinema system, get it installed and just blast some great action movie or concert out of it at home ... but with the prices at Sony it will probably remain just one thing: a dream.
