    Brilliantly understated humour and observations on everyday life of the family. Characters are explored in a subtle manner - its hilarious and intelligent. For me there aren't any bad points, but if you're someone who looks for instant in-your-face humour, then you wont be pleased. There isn't any annoying canned laughter or obvious "jokes" - which makes the program better in my opinion. Give it time and watch a few episodes - not just one - and you'll be hooked!

    In the The Royle Family the 'storyline' is non-existent. The characters are bland and non-distinct. The dad and Twiggy are constantly laughing at their own 'jokes'. Basically - not recommended.
