I hired a small van for one day (12pm Thursday to 12pm Friday) costing £25 from the Torquay depot. My wife booked and paid for it online paying via a debit card for our joint bank account. The next day a customer service agent (if you can call him that) called to confirm the booking, when he asked my wife how the deposit would be paid she told him on the debit card used to book the van in her name and she explained to him about our joint bank account to which he said that will be fine just… Read Full Review

“Rip off merchants”

Hired a van to empty of late fathers house, they kept adding charges on the day, reducing excess fees etc, they were really busy and did a quick scoot round the van and hubby signed, was no dents nothing now on return they say there is a pressure dent ! “Appalling customer service ”

The customer service i received at the Taunton office was appalling. The staff member i dealt with showed no empathy, he didn't listen and was abrupt. He called himself a manager! “Keep away from Enterprise Car Rentals!!!”

My wife and I hired a car from Enterprise in June 2015. On a narrow road in Norfolk, a speeding maniac heading towards me, forcing me to take evasive action and move slightly off the road. Unfortunately, a concrete block or something similar was hidden in the roadside grass. “Abysmal service, avoid at all costs”

I moved house on Friday and hired a transit from enterprise. I don't drive so my dad agreed to drive. The issues were numerous: 1) lift arrived at 9:45 when it was set for 9. “Total rip off”

Picked up hired car last Wednesday while my car was being repaired phoned today to say my car was now repaired and that I was returning hired car today l was informed to leave car at repair centre and they would pick it up got phone all tonight to say I have to pay them my £200 insurance excess as there is a crack on windscreen on passenger side I had two different passengers with me today who both say windscreen was not cracked so be warned if they tell you to leave car somewhere. Booked last night at short notice but got an email back stating "Your Reservation is Confirmed". So this morning off I go by taxi (pick-up service is too slow) and arrived just as they opened - walked in and spoke to one member of staff before being approached by another to say "we don't have anything available today" - followed by "do you want to book for antoher day" - no I don't... Hired a couple of times from the Croydon branch of Enterprise and found it satisfactory. However, was moving friends of mine from Croydon to Manchester and needed a small van. The hire process was straightforward on the website and I took out the relevant insurances to reduce any excesses. “Admin Charge”

Personally I think their admin charges for penalties is way over the top! We hired a car for a one way trip to London on 06/02/16 and wasn't aware of the charge to drive over the Dartford Bridge. Enterprise were issued with a letter asking for the charge of £2.50 to be paid by 02/03/16. I have been hiring regularly from this company. I need the car for 4 days a week for 6 months. Because monthly rate is very high I decided to hire and return each week. After 2 months, the brunch told me to go away or hire with monthly cost which is double the price. I don't find any good reason for this behaviour. I never hired a van before and thought that I'd used Enterprise because of the brand. Their a liars and will at any opportunity try to rip you off. When collecting a car, they're very quick at checking you out by rushing through the process of quickly going about the vehicle. when returning the vehicle, they go through with it with a fine tooth comb and microscope. “Ripped off”

I have had the same problem with this company, but you appear to ahead of me with contact. I used to hire from this company, but there tactics have changed, in progressing to demanding more money from customers. Obviously we can see what is happening here.

They offered us a van of a size we were looking for, however when we came to pick it up a couple of weeks later, we noticed it was a smaller class.
