I went to the town lake office to rent a car.they were very rude from beginning to end. They literally shut down the computers and refused to rent me a car because I wasn't told I needed 2 bills until I was already at their office so I went home and got the bills but because one of was my house payment and not a utility bill they told me that it was closing time and the computers were off come back tomorrow. “Outrageous Treatment of Loyal Customer”

We have been using van hire with enterprise since last year working on a weekly basis and then every 4 weeks redoing the agreement and deposit. We have been contacted this week by them and been told for our loyalty that they will no longer allow us to hire weekly and that we have to pay a minimum of 4 weeks at a time and the deposit to match. Booked a van well inadvance for 10 on a morning. pay online etc - check what i need to collect it the next day id etc. Wake up to a phone call from the branch i booked to collect it from 1.5 hours before i'm to collect it. “Terrible experience”

I had a car accident and my insurance sent me to Enterprise Rent-A-Car rental to rent a vehicle while my car was in the auto shop. My insurance could cover $30 per day. When my husband and I went inside, it was very busy. The person who offered us her help, was helping multiple customers at the same time. She said that Nissan Altima was available and it costed exactly $30 per day. Car hire and returned to Edinburgh Airport. All good until I got a phone call saying I awed them £350 for replacement of all the tyres. The tyres had minor scratches only. They sent threatening letters and did not listen to my dispute. I will never hire from this company again!… Read Full Review

“Pushy, intimidating staff”

Man at the desk was over-familiar and went through hoops to try and sell me extras I didn't need - excess waiver and breakdown cover - even though I have comprehensive annual cover for these. Pre-charged €250 excess to my credit card, incurring me an £8 out-of-currency fee from my bank. Still waiting for the reimbursement. Their fuel mark-up is about 30%, fortunately I'd overfuelled (didn't get any back of course....!). Car (group B) was low spec Corsa with 15,000km on it… Read Full Review

my friend rented a van from the portadown enterprise branch long story re them taking £500 from my friends bank account and this was after they refunded his deposit so people watch your bank balance when renting from this unhelpful and totally untrustworthy they refunded my friends money after a 1000 phone calls plus £50 comp as they admitted they were wrong my friend still hasn't received the check yet but we will never rent from this branch again also they never ever return your call so… Read Full Review

“Taken complete liberties and exploitation ”

Having rented a van to drive from London to Scotland I returned the car with minor damage to the external plastic bumper measuring no more than a few inches. They claimed the repair work was £500 and took the maximum they could off me which was £300. I was informed that the vehicles are repaired by a third party however the invoice I received was headed with "Enterprise" logo. went to hire a car from 1pm Friday 30th dec for 3 days to return monday 1pm was told this was not possible as the place was closed on the Monday so I woul;d have to pay for 4 days, however when the car came up to pick me up late as usual, I was told that they were open on the monday but as I was hiring at 9 am , I had changed my arrangementsi couls change to the 3 days, as I was being charged for the 4 days. this is just another way they use to use get money, another one is to blackmail you… Read Full Review

“Dreadful Service”

Received a hire car from Enterprise, via insurance company, after a bump (not my fault). The gentleman who dropped off the car was extremely polite and friendly and the car was a 2016 plate and very nice. No complaints on that score. “Buyer Beware”

Enterprise UK will do their best to rip you off in whatever way they can. On collection they advised there was no need to check the wheels or tyres as they only assess the car's body on return. A different story when you do return the car! They took additional funds from my credit card without advising they were doing so, despite having promised to provide advice re the outcome of discussions. I was contacted by the Area Manager about this case. He told me that he had himself pushed the misaligned panel back in place and admitted that I had been frivolously charged £1000 - which was returned to me. Moreover, it is clear that the local manager had told me a pack of lies about the car having to go to the garage for repair. My conclusion about this company remains unchanged: they suffer from an ethical deficit at both senior management and lower level. Avoid them.

We hired a car from Enterprise Car Rental as were we racing in UTMB, we had to wait an hour for our car but otherwise everything seemed ok with the lease. However when we returned the car very early we had to put the keys in the box as no one was around so we completely photographed the car as we were worried they would hold our deposit. Rented a car last July from Enterprise Car Rental at Stansted airport and they never once mentioned the Dartford crossing charges which is rather strange given that many customers (especially from abroad) are very likely to use the crossing if going into London. With children in the car and paying attention to other things, never saw signs about the charges when approaching the crossing. The details are as I set out in my review. I rented a van using the online booking service over the weekend of 8/9 October for one day's rental on Monday 10 October. The location was Enterprise at Glynn Gsp Bexhill (which I think is classed as your Hastings depot). I received a call on the morning of 10 October to say no vans were available. When I asked how I was able to book a van online they were not able to help me. I had to hire a van from another company at the last minute, at a higher rate and further away.
