Nothing wrong with the people of the car but you are hit with charges and super expensive loss of use policies that make it way more than they quoted. Also, when you book on the phone the agent will try and sell you a plan to get coupons only to find out that Dollar has never heard of these coupons ! (read more)

I needed a car for a week and all car companies were charging so much. All of a sudden, Atlas Choice popped up! They were charging one-half of what the competition wanted. I have to admit, I was a little concerned, at first. The old saying, " if it seems too good to be true, it probably is", came to mind. But when I got the confirmation by e-mail, and Dollar was named as the cooperating car rental, I knew everything would be okay. This was a name I had heard about so I called them and... (read more)

We had a very bad surprise when seeing the bill for our car rental in costa rica. They included all all insurances whereas we requested no insurance before taking the car. Before signing the contract they showed us on a hand calculator the price without assurance. Finally we paid 350 euros (450 dollars) additional. Dollar took the print of my credit, return flight was 3 hours later, there is nothing we could do. What would happen if we had an accident or a problem this car. I am sure there... (read more)

All the reviews on here are hilarious!!! You people are incredibly stupid. If any of you would simply just read the rules and conditions of your rental before you book, you would save yourself self inflicted headaches. Firstly, NO ADDITIONAL INSURANCE IS MANDATORY!!! We rented an economy car through Expedia and when we start filling out the paperwork the agent claims the economy car would be the size a Fiat 500 with no room for luggage. We should have realized that was silly as how could a rental car company at an airport have cars that have no room for luggage. We ended up paying over $125 for an upgrade to a compact car then we get to the airport and find that there were perfectly acceptable small economy cars that would have fit our luggage. (read more)

We are from Canada, and when we rent a car in Florida (which is every year), we contact our home insurance company before we go to let them know we will be renting. They provide us with confirmation of coverage of the rental vehicle for the duration of our vacation, at no extra charge. We also make sure to pay for our rental vehicle with a major credit card - this saves us on the daily cdw charges (collision damage waiver) - damage, if any, is then covered by the credit card company. Not sure if it is the same in the UK. Worth checking out - it's amazing about the number of people who are not aware of this coverage - and of course, the car rental companies will not tell you.

I agree, Satchell, with your comments. I am about to cancel my booking with Dollar booked via RentalCars.com. ( I paid in full at the time of booking so they will have to refund me duly). If you're in the UK, there is a freefone no. which you could call them and complain?
My reason for cancelling with Dollar/RentalCars is the lack of info pertaining to Dollar's obligatory Pass24 (pre-paid toll scheme which costs about $37 per rental). I have no intention of driving on Florida's toll roads so why should I pay this extra rip-off fee?
I'm so weary of all these T&Cs which are not presented truthfully and clearly from the get-go.
I
