Continental Airlines recently lost a bag of mine filled with irreplaceable possessions. This bag was a carry-on – not a checked, a carry-on -- bag and was moved without my knowledge or permission from the overhead bin. No one has seen the bag since. This took place on my way to Rhode Island to attend the graduation ceremonies for members of the Initiative to Educate Afghan Women. The First Lady, Mrs. Bush, was scheduled to be there and so, due to the nature of the events, I had packed... (read more)

I was coming from Paris on UA132 on March 27 when a nasty flight attendant seems to have a nasty attitude with me all the way from Paris to Whashingon. This flight attendant picked me out of the crowd and was very nasty to me. I don't even know why she was so nasty and ugly with me. When i complained to the commandant on board, although he seems to understand my dilema, he would not release her name to me for further complaints. The flight attendant came to us while i was complaining and... (read more)

Everyone knows that in an environment where staff are in close contact with customers, the quality of service they provide makes or breaks the experience and you don't get much closer than an airline cabin. Where do I start - well, you never get a second chance to make a first impression and my first impression of Continental's crew was grumpy, untidy, sullen. This didn't improve throughout the flight nor on the return journey when our attendant told us 'I can't hear a word you people are... (read more)

This the first review i have ever writen. I just can't take it anymore! I have had the worst experiences with continental and only took it in the past because it was cheap and I swore never to take it again. I booked on lufthansa and little did I know, yep, it was run by continental.. to my horror! I called lufthansa and was on and off the phone with a pleasant representative that answered all my questions in under 2 minutes. So now I'm sitting here waiting on the phone to speak with someone... Flight 322 SNA-SFO 1/22/12 I would like to express my sheer disappointment with United and Continental. The two airlines have caused me more stress than I ever expected possible flying. After one failed attempt flying with United/Continental I thought I would give them another go. This turned out to be the BIGGEST travel mistake of my life and almost cost me a flight back to home(Western Australia). From the moment my sister and I checked in at John Wayne Airport things were not off to a... (read more)

Felt misled about how many bags I was able to take. Spoken down to at the baggage check when I asked why I was being charged additional funds. I was traveling with seven family members all of whom read the instructions for the flight and came to the same conclusion regarding the luggage count. Honestly, I felt intentionally misled and overcharged.. Screw continental, I will never fly with them again. Ok.. I was on my way to Honolulu International airport from Quebec city. We flew from Quebec city to Chicago, then from Chicago to Los Angeles and we were about to take off from Los Angeles. As we were getting compfortable in our seats, the crew informed us of a machanical problem and that there would be at least another hour delay. They gave us the option to exit the plane and go back to the terminal for more compfort. That one hour ended up being a 2 and a half hours delay. We arrived in... (read more)

Continental airline's attitude to it's customers is shockingly bad. We queued for 1hr 20 mins to check in, after getting through security had to run to gate where we were told that the flight was overbooked and we had no seat! We paid good prices for our tickets, booked in advance etc. Staff were completely disinterested in the fact that it had already ruined our holiday. They lazily booked us another flight, directed us to the wrong terminal meaning that we had to run to the next gate. Flew... (read more)

By far one of the worst most inconsiderate airlines out there! Expect to have your entire flight cancelled on a beautiful sunny day for "weather" reasons. This is especially true if you are flying out of a small airport. I rather pay a few dollars more to fly any other airline where I m treated well and can actually expect to get to my destination. I have a few horror stories from trying to get my money back for a flight they cancelled and left me high and dry in another country. It has also... (read more)

The merge with United is the worst possible thing that could have happened to CO. The customer service is beyond horrible- on our most recent trip, we spent several hours on the telephone with their "help desk" attempting to rebook a flight that was cancelled for weather related reasons more than 24 hours before the flight was scheduled (and the forecast for both the departure and arrival cities was for occasional rain and for a chance of an isolated thumderstorm) As a result, we lost our... I've been a loyal customer my whole life. I can't wait for my next trip so I can NOT use Continental. I had chosen continental as one of my preferred airlines. After many trips, I have now decided to move away and avoid continental in future.
Here is what I have to show for my decision to choose continental:
1. All my reward miles has been taken away. Some system glitch it looks like!
2. I canceled one of my tickets and then cannot use up the credit. The credit can only be used on pure continental flights. Most of continental flights out of Chicago are actually united code share.
