Good Points: Amazing Screen Video Lovely Flip Design VGA Camera
Bad Points: Rubbish Texting Poor Ringtones
General comments: The E300 is another of Samsungs popular camera phones but how good is it compared with the likes of the E600, P510 and E330?
Well for starters it has a typically amazing Samsung screen, big and vibrant. The camera is of VGA res. and produces high quality pictures with lots of great features and effects. Then there is the video recorder which is not bad but not one of the best I've seen. That alone puts it ahead of the above mentioned phones.
It also has around 8.5mb of memory but it isn't shared but different parts of the phone have been assigned a certain amount of memory i.e.: Photos have 4mb of memory assigned but video has only 2mb and games only 700kb.
The external screen is useful but a bit difficult to take pictures with but is better than not having an external screen at all. The 4 games supplied with the phone are very good, especially the Ultimate Golf Challenge game which is one of the best golf games you'll find on a phone. It also has the usual 'useful' features like a stopwatch, calculator, diary, vice memo and alarm which sometimes come in handy.
That is where the good things end though. The texting capability of the phone is both hard work and complicated even though it does have T 9. The ringtones are terrible and boring and they make it very hard to download new ones.
Overall this phone is between very good and excellent. It is well featured but has a few silly drawbacks, namely the ringtones, internet, texting and poor reception (though that is probably due to the network.

When I first got hold of the new E300 from Samsung it was a feeling of Deja Vu! Like the first time I held the then, 'must have' phone, the T100. Sleek, stylish and full of promise. This handset though is a new generation of Samsung. Smaller and leaner offering lots of new features. At least so I thought!
My E300 was a PAYG handset on Virgin Mobile and can be bought for around £150 in the shops or direct from the Virgin Mobile website for the same but with extra free airtime. It's a dual ...
