Good Points: This is a good looking phone - I only decided to get one because of the bad reviews as it seems people want the phone to do everything including making the tea but they are primarily designed for one thing, to make and receive phone calls! It is a great phone if you only realise what it was designed for. Yes it plays mp3s, not a great sound but I would not expect hi-fi quality on a phone. It takes photos and video, again I would not expect SLR or Cam quality, but what it does do is something your camera, MP3 player and kitchen sink cannot do and that is make phone calls.

Bad Points: None that I can find.

General comments: The Motorola V975 phone is a great design, just a tad larger than the v600. The reception is good in the area that I live, screen quality is excellent and the keypad buttons are well spaced.

All the moans about battery life are unfounded - it states in the manual that you must charge and discharge the battery several times before full capacity is reached anyway why not buy a spare and keep charged, they're only a couple of pounds on eBay.

I would say that it would be a good ideal to buy a case for the phone to keep it in top condition and also help keep its value. I have no problems whatsoever with this phone, especially those stated in previous reviews, so if you can get your hands on one, buy it. And finally, 3 mobile service has greatly improved recently and also if you cannot get full 3 mobile 3G signal, the phone roams to the o2 network, so really it makes the service even better.

I got this phone on a 12 month contract, luckily it runs out next month with the offer of £4.99 line rental for 10 months. As soon as I got the phone I charged it for 12 hours as suggested, but the 1st time I used it the battery ran for about 2 days before needing re-charging and I didn't even use it that much. When trying to use the video feature, it only allows me to video for 10 secs before stopping. The phone tends to heat up so is impractical for long conversations.

I've owned a Motorola V975 mobile phone since July last year when they were the latest hot phone on the market. I was given it free with my shiny new 3 pay monthly contract... If only I knew that by "Hot Phone" they meant it literally! Within 10 minutes of starting a call, the phone got so hot I had to hang up and put it down for a while! I'm waiting patiently now until November, when I can upgrade this awful handset and hopefully get something decent that's not going to burn my ears off. Also, ...

I joined the latest up and coming mobile phone network, 3, about 18 months ago, and I was provided with an LG U1180 mobile phone as part of the package. After about 9 months the phone began playing up no end (crackly line, phone freezing, games crashing), so I couldn't wait for my yearly upgrade.

There were not very many phones on offer I have to say, when I popped down to my local Carphone Warehouse; about 4 different phones I think.

I hadn't had a Motorola phone since the Flare was out m ...

I have had my Motorola V975 mobile phone on a contract with Three Mobile, and it has been sent back for repairs 5 times, with the handset being replaced twice. Even if you get this handset for £20, DON'T. The screens always freeze, and you have to open and close it several times to get it going agen. The phone heats up after 10 minutes of being on the phone, and you cannot bear the heat near your ear. The battery is pants, you have to charge it every night, and over half the time it doesn' ...

The Motorola V975 is probably the worst phone I have ever owned. It has been replaced 3 times by my network, soon to be a fourth time as the problem keeps returning. I get silence when making calls and if there isnt silence its louds bangs like gun fire. It's bulky too. I use my v975 a lot a keep finding myself having to charge it in the car even when it's been on charge all night after very little use. It's as if we have travelled back 10 years in battery technology as the life is that bad. Do ...

THE MOTOROLA V975 MOBILE PHONE HEATS UP TO THE POINT WHERE IT FEELS LIKE MY EAR IS GOING TO BURN OFF AFTER TALKING FOR 10-15 MINUTES OR MORE, AND AS A GIRL IT IS TOTALLY IMPRACTICAL TO EXPECT ME TO HAVE SHORT CONVERSATIONS AT ALL TIMES.
THE BATTERY IS EVEN WORSE, AND IT ONLY LASTS FOR ONLY A FEW HOURS IF YOU DARE TALK ON IT FOR LONGER THAN 30-45 MINUTESS BEFORE IT STARTS FLASHING LOW BATTERY, AND ON STANDBY YOU ARE LUCKY TO GET A THIRD OF THE ADVERTISED 145 HOURS STANDBY TIME. DONT EXPECT TO U ...

This is a very poor phone! It's big, the battery doesn't last very long, The camera is very mediocre. There are no games, and you have to pay for downloads. Avoid it all costs! Stick to the Nokia. You have been warned.

I have had my Motorola V975 for a month now and in general it's a very good phone. The MP3 player is very good and the headphones that came with it were very good, with great sound quality. I had to get the memory upgrade to 256Mb for it to be worthwhile, and to be able to store all the fun photo's etc and mini films. Can't seem to find a way of extending the film length yet. But the battery life is BAD.. if I speak to someone for more than about 30 mins, then text a couple of people and listen ...

The V975 is a very stylish, lightweight and hard wearing flip phone with dual full colour screens and excellent built in camera, video capture, video confereneing, email, diary, MP3 player, photo and voice tagged phonebook, can synch with PC to store contacts and pictures. There is not a great deal of storage space for videos or MP3. Despite all of the top of the range features the V975 is not Bluetooth enabled. There are no built in games.

The Motorola V975 has nothing that any of the others do not so it is not at all novel. For a 3G phone that is somewhat unacceptable. The screen display is a rather average quality, the contact menu has about 8 categories but only four can be selected when entering a new contact (of which Friends, Family and Work are not included) so that is pointless and the time is displayed in US format which is a little arrogant of Motorola.
