I have had the Motorola V980 for 2 and a half years now. The phone has 3G which is a bonus, when I got it the phone was of the highest quality and still is rated good.

The Motorola V980 is a great phone, stylish and good features. I bought a long life battery and signal booster off Ebay now works fine.

I was going to leave vodafone, but was bought off by the claimed MP3 on the Motorola V980. I should have left.

I have always, until this Motorola, had Nokia phones. Some very good, all good, all completely reliable and with outstanding battery life.

With this Motorola I thought it would be nice, not only to load some favourite tracks to listen to but also to use them as ring-tones for friends and family (Ozzy's looped cough at the beginning of Sweet Leaf is a cracker for my wife).

    Wha ...

The V980, just as a phone, is pretty good. It does the job like I like to say. I haven't had any drop out so far and the design of the phone while dated (it is Motorola we're talking about), it does the job.

The menu system is fairly easy to navigate even for a novice like me. I was using old Nokias and decided to upgrade, so that's a plus in my books.

The camera features 4 X zoom with both internal/external views, but to me that's only really a gimmick for the kiddies - or if you're on th ...

The Motorola V980's battery won't last a day between charges if you make more than an hour of calls. Connects OK in full 3G coverage, but dithers and drops calls on 3G/GSM boundaries. Stopped using the phone (bought for the airtime deal, rather than 3G) and have stuffed the SIM into a Sony T68i. No problems, battery lasts a week and who needs video anyway!

My 3410 was dieing so called vodafone for an upgrade, it was the Motorola V980 release day and it was offered foc. First morning of use it averaged 2-3 bars signal strength (was full signal on 3410), disconnected 2 calls mid conversation then started averaging 0-2 bars signal, unable to call out even on 2 bars.

Replacement phone had even worse signal, first call was dropped midchat unable to dial again after that, during 10mins of attempts battery went from full to 1 bar. Being returned, no ...
