With the Sony Ericsson V800 mobile phone you never know when you are connected to the network, or not. I have to reboot mine every morning to be sure, otherwise I cannot call or receive calls, even when on the screen I see the signal power lines. (read more)

I have owned the Sony Ericsson V800 mobile phone for 8 months now, and frankly I can't wait to see it go. It regularly turns itself off (even during a call), drops calls, and most annoying... it has changed some of the telephone numbers in my phone-book! Weird! How does it do that? Also, when the battery runs down, you get very little warning, and when it cuts off that's that. No amount of waiting makes any difference. If you haven't got your charger to hand, then forget it. The Sony Ericsson V800 looks good and in principle it could be a good phone.... but it's software problems are like something out of the Exorcist! Turns it self off, wont turn off, dial 113 it dies, the camera wouldn't save pictures, need I say more!? I had three of them over a 6 month period. All had faults. (read more)

Thank you Doug for your kind words. I'd like to make an additional note to the review by mentioning that the battery life on this handset (having now had it long enough to really guage it)is not all that it could be. This takes the phones rating down a notch so read it as an 8/10 score above.

I got the phone from vodafone, and was unpleased with it, mainly because of its brickish looks. I swapped it for the S700i, and am very pleased with it. If I were some one who didn't need (or didn't see the point in) 3g I'd go for the S700i over the V800 anyday...

This is the type of review that Review Centre is all about. It's incredibly generous, insightful and informed, without being the slightest bit preachy. Thanks for writing it.
