Good Points: Strength, Accuracy, Price, Looks

Bad Points: I didn't select it as my first choice. should have bought before any of my other rifles

General comments: Very accurate even at long distances. The price is great for the quality of the gun. It is powerful, not a toy. Mine didn't have the open sights even though the box advertised it did, didn't care and got it a scope.A scope is a must in one of this rifles, since you can get the most out of it with it. I got a 4x32 one on it, I'd wouldn't recommend anything smaller than the x32 or greater than the 4x. The trigger is the most criticised part of this gun, as most ppl feel it takes too much strength to pull, but in my opinion, if you know your rifle, you can learn to pull it accurately at very long distances. Someone might wonder what's the diff, with the non silver shadow 1000, its the outer part of the barrel, this one has a rubber thing around the end of it, instead of the mount for the open sight, and the open sights front part is located before the actual barrel, making it more stable.

Shoots well. We took it to moms house and we shot about 10 birds the first day then about 5 the next day. So it is pretty accurate. Then i went bullfrog hunting and missed a few with JSB predator pellets. I usually use Crosman pellets and those are best for me. Other good pellets are Gamo Raptor, Gamo Rocket pellets.

Bought this rifle after considering the Winchester 1000 which is the same as the Daisy 1000, to get rid of some pests that are harming the environment where I live. After comparing it to the rifle mentioned earlier I was willing to pay the extra $30 for it. The build quality is excellent as are all of the components. It feels substantial, just like a firearm, and is very potent; at 30 yards it will penetrate a half inch piece of plywood. Not a toy. The recoil is somewhat disturbing to you learn ...

After the second shot and the torn seal, I called the store and told them what happened. They replaced the rifle immediately. When I first started sighting in the second rifle the shots were all over the target. I tried everything I could think of ( support of the rifle, grip, stance, etc.) I finally called one of the guys who tune up air rifles and was told to change the pellet I was using. He suggested a few that had been successful for him. I bought the Crosman Premier hollow points and the ...

Affordable $158.00 US Dollars@ Academy. Scope was mounted and bore sighted from factory. It came with tools, Scope "BSA" very sweet very functional, and it has a cool way to adjust for windage and elevation. I have been shooting it for two days, two hours yesterday and five hours today , it is very accurate close and far away, accurate very accurate. As far as power the speed of sound is 1128 fps @ sea level, and we are faster than that with PBA ammo. Anyways go buy one, and have a good ol time.

Before I bought the Gamo Shadow Sport 1000, I was shooting squirrels in my yard with a .22 rifle with ratshot. It was successful but the margin of error was too great and I was not impressed at all by the accuracy. So I shopped online for a week and a half and I found this gun and it was love at first click. (I bought this gun from Cabela's three weeks ago.(NEVER DO THAT BECAUSE THEY JUST GOT IT TO ME AND THE GARUNTEED ME 3-6 DAY). And I just got it the other day.) I immediately put the scope on ...

I love the Gamo Silver Shadow 1000. After practicing on paper for a week or so I took it to the woods and found a couple hundred 40 pound racoons. What a great shooting gun. The knock down power isn't like a 30.06 but what can you do with a 125 dollar rifle. I know one thing if you hit a racoon in the boiler room, he's down for the count!

OK, first this review on the Gamo Silver Shadow 1000 air rifle really must be broken into two sections: before and after tuning.

BEFORE: When I pulled the rifle out of the box, I was pleasantly surprised by the looks of the stock and its weight. Basically it feels and looks good in your hand. I mounted a cheap scope on it and tightened all the screws, knowing that this wasn't going to be the final product (explained later). I got a box of 1250 Crosman premiers and immediately started firing ...

I purchased a Shadow 1000 floor model from Sports Academy for 75 greenbacks and on my first shot from 43 ft. was within 2 inches. Less than a dozen shots later it is dead on inside a dime. I haven't tested it's knock down power. It will soon be tested on rats infesting in areas of New Orleans. For the price paid for a 1000 fps airgun it seems to be a bargain!

You get what you pay for........

I got this Gamo Silver Shadow 1000 Air Rifle shipped to the UK (SILVER model not sold in UK...Go figure) to give to a couple of youngsters to learn. Hence the non-wood stock choice.
Quite on target but the trigger pull weight...must be over 12 lbs, maybe 15lbs.
    (Take a run up).
If the lads can shoot on target with that trigger then that puts them in good stead to shoot a more sophiscated air rifle with a real trigger.
But fun to shoot none the less.
    Just ...

I got the Gamo silver Shadow 1000 gun after reading a lot of reviews. I found it on sale with red dot scope for $162. I sold the scope for $20 and have $142 in it. I am very happy with the gun after sighting in, it is able to shoot a single hole group from 17.5feet indoor. That's how far it is from my couch to the trap. Outdoor it will shoot through a 1 inch pine board at 15 yards repeatedly like a 22 rimfire. I have killed a few birds with it with no problem. Overall great gun, recommended.

I picked it up second hand its an awesome gun.

I've owned guns before, but nothing like this, she's a dream. I fitted her with a scope 4x32 Nikko stirling.

Just one questions, if someone could answer this, is the spring on your shadow make such a springy noise? while YOU are holding it and shooting it.

I bought the Gamo Silver Shadow 1000 from academy on sale for 125.00. After much trial and error with scopes I found that a 4X32 BSA is holding good accuracy for me now. I can not adjust the trigger to any noticeable difference. I followed the directions, but the little screw seems to have no effect. It shoots very accurately and powerfully, but you got to hold onto it when you shoot. The recoil is heavy and will throw your shots off. It requires practice and marksmanship and that is what ...

I go the Gamo Silver Shadow 1000 gun on sale at acdemy for only $125.00!!! The silver looks very cool and doesn't smudge. I bought a $20 gamo scope with it. Mistake! this scope had me questioning the accuracy of the gun. I took off the scope and the sights right out of the box made the gun a tack driver. LOVE IT!!!
