In theory this job site does seem a bit better than some of them. But, beware the dates at the bottom of the adverts. These are often the dates the job has appeared (or re-appeared) the site, and when you click on the advert and apply you see that the job was actually advertised quite a long time before. When you follow up the application you find out the job has already been filled. It really just takes you through to the sites and agencies you are already registered with.

Interestingly emails started appearing in my inbox immediately after I registered with TotalJobs.co.uk

I mention TotalJobs because since registering I have been inundated with unsolicited totally inappropriate jobs - including a couple that have been positively identified as pishing scams - up until now my inbox has been blissfully empty of inappropriate / unsolicited emails. I was told by TotalJobs that although they review all users sometimes rogues slip through the net.

I'm not saying that 1Job is a dodgy site, but I did ask them to remove my details from their mailing lists etc , but I'm sure you have guessed...I still keep receiving their emails....

Like most of these sort of jobsites the matching of roles to experience and requirements leaves a lot to be desired.

I'd argue that they are little better than speaking to agencies directly.

Very useful job site / job search engine. Especially a good place to search for jobs and find what you what in your local area The site is a really fast way to find jobs shown on hundred of UK job sites. 1job.co.uk link direct throught to the jobs so it saves you an enormous amount of time. Not much information on how to get the most out of the site. A better help section would be useful.

Very quick and accurate search results. Many different search methods, with the refine bar on the left being rather helpful. Millions of jobs on there! I would definitely recommend www.1job.co.uk, definitely feel its going to help me find a job

If you are looking for a real job search engine I'd recommend www.check4jobs.com all day long, the site has many strong points and has all the latest employers on there. 1Job.co.uk - This is a true vertical search engine crawling / spidering job adverts on recruiters' websites. Fantastic! Why has this not been done before!
